CPO S580 vs New E450

I posted this on the W223 forum as well but i guess no one wants to reply so I am also posting here but making it a poll.

I have owned my 2014 E550 since November of 2013 and it is time that I need to start looking for a new vehicle. We have a great relationship with our local Merceds dealer so I want to stay within the brand. I also want a car at least as powerful as the E550. The closest E class would be the E450 or the E53. However those optioned up would be close to 100k for the E450 and likely over that for the E53. Paying that much for an E class without a V8 seems too much.

That has me thinking that a S580 CPO could be a great alternative. Yes I know there is an obvious size difference. But now more so than before, the E class interior seems to be a knock off from the S class. Might as well get original.

What would you get a new 214 or a CPO W223? I appreciate any insights.

The S class is the undisputed head of the class of MB sedans. ‘Nuff said.

Make sure it fits in your garage. I'd have an S but it won't fit in my garage so I have a well-optioned E.

i have an s500..It is the swb model. my car is shorter than the lwb model and was only available in Canada as a 2021 and 2022 model.Mine is the 2022 model. i do like the car but my lease is up in a year. I am going to check out the e450 shortly once it is available here in Canada.
i have been very pleased with the car. it has plenty of pwer and well equipped . I had an e class wagon prior to the S and many e class MBs over the past 4 decades. I needed thee short wheel base model to fit in my garage and i also wanted the newer tech which I must say i really do enjoy. Now that the eclass has the newer tech I am interested in looking at it as my next vehicle.
My major gripe re the S class is the size of the trunk and the rear seats do not fold.. I do believe the new E has a larger trunk than my S. I do miss the wagon and would consder that but the wagon is not avaiable in Canada .

Even though my house was built in 2017, the detached garage is original to the property and I have about 30 inches of room with my E550 parked. So it will fit. I may have to change some so my 20 inch shelves to narrower ones.

Thank you. I am looking forward to it. The car is a 2024 and it is CPO with only 2500 miles on it.
