I brought this up on another thread here.

There’s no easy fix, yet, but the latest guidance I received from my local dealer is the easiest I’ve been able to come up with.

I fell your pain.

2024 CLE 450 C4
Picked up my new 2024 CLE 450C4 last week and encountered the same issue. I also own a 2024 GLC 300 and it successfully saves FM and XM stations. I spoke to the tech person at the dealership and they contacted MB and there doesn't seem to be a date or plan to offer a fix He committed to keeping me posted on developments.

E350 and GLC300
I got the same response from my dealer when I reported the problem in April 2024.

The more we ***** and complain, one would hope it gets a heightened level of attention.

I'll mention anecdotally, my GF also took delivery of a 2025 MB (a GLE 450 Coupe) and the UI on "favorites" is how you'd intuitively expect it whereby all starred channels on any band get bucketed into favs and you scroll away to your hearts content form one saved channel to another.

How frustrating!!

Depends on where you are complaining to. This site isn't the place if you want MB to notice and take action. I doubt anyone working for MB that can influence change looks at this site.

Yeah - that's what I meant by "complain" - meaning to your local dealer who then should relay that up at their respective regional level.

For me here in FL, it's up to Atlanta, which happens to be where MNUSA is HQ as well.

I wouldn't count on the dealership passing your complaint to MBUSA or corporate. Unless it impacts sales, they likely don't care.

I've had my 2025 AT for a week now and here's what I figured out for adding favorites. The key is to choose the "Zero Layer" option for the home screen (first pic above). Once you're in Zero Layer, your Sirius channels appear as a ribbon at the bottom of your GPS (second pic above). This is similar to the spilt screen I had in my older MB wagon but not my 2022 W213 wagon. From GPS, you can pull up your Sirius favorites by tapping the Sirius ribbon (third pic above). Full disclosure, my favorites are a combination of favorites for my daughter, wife and me. If you choose the "Classic" option for the home screen, the favorites will appear under "SXM Favorites" (fourth pic above). None of this seems as intuitive as the old system. But I guess some consider this progress.

I sing in a community chorus. The guy next to me is very nice, can sight read music, and has a really nice tenor voice. He also occasionally farts. Really bothered me at first. But now I accept the positives with the negative. Tenors are hard to come by. So now I just think: That's Bob.

When I touch the radio icon on the Home Screen I never get the same results. Yesterday I got into the car and touched the radio icon on the bottom of the zero layer Home Screen and got a totally different radio display, unlike any of the images displayed by druid1, and something I hadn't seen before: A single horizontal ribbon displaying all the radio stations A month ago I would have really been annoyed. Instead, I just thought: That's Bob.

It’s like your MBUX has an innie and an outie (Severance).

Are you using the same User Profile? Problem could be you saved your favorites under one User Profile but start the car and select another profile (or the Guest profile).

Only one user, one user profile.

Thank you for your posts and photos. I can access the same screen you mentioned, but I'm still experiencing difficulties. I see stars when I try to use the steering wheel and, in my case, my right hand to change my favorite stations. For me, the main concern is the safety feature that allows using this function with the steering wheel controls without taking my eyes off the road.

Spot-on, 100% correct.
It's a horribly designed and poorly developed UI.
Sadly, I believe we've all exhausted the limits of this awful, user-hostile software build.

As bad as the UX is for this feature, I don't see this as a safety concern. It's not a required feature to operate the car and therefore if it's its unsafe to use the functionality while driving, then don't use it. Poor design and poor user experience, yes. Safety issue, not really. The car literally says don't let MBUX distract you from the safe operation of the vehicle when it starts. That goes for all MBUX functions. It's the drivers responsibility to drive without distraction such as fiddling with the audio system, the climate control, the mirrors, etc.

They market their cars as high-tech marvels, yet we can't even save our satellite radio stations as Favorites, or use the steering wheel controls to play music.
Many other cars and manufacturers offer this technology, so how difficult can it be to implement?
They are lagging behind other manufacturers in this area, and despite our repeated complaints, they seem unwilling to make changes.

Whether or not you view this as a safety concern does not change its validity. You are entitled to your opinion, but I disagree with you.
If there are steering wheel controls, the driver can minimize the time their eyes are off the road and keep their hands on the wheel. Any feature that hinders this is, in my opinion, a safety concern.
You suggest we shouldn’t adjust volumes, temperatures, ambient lighting, etc., which I find unreasonable. I believe we should make these adjustments in a way that minimizes distractions.
Using voice control or steering wheel buttons is one way to do this.
However, can you use these methods to change XM Satellite favorite stations? We know the answer to that.

You seem to be misunderstanding me. I agree it should be made easier and safer. If however, you have an accident because you are fiddling with the audio and get distracted due to the difficulty, it's your fault.. Yes, MB should make it easier to perform these functions while driving, but it's not the same as your brakes not working properly, your gas peddle sticking, your wipers not clearing the windshield which are all safety concerns. All I am saying is don't over dramatize this as a safety concern when it's not. You do not need to operate the audio system while driving in order to operate the vehicle safely. Should they fix it, yes. Is it a safety issue. No!

And "Hey, Mercedes, show me my SXM Favorites" doesn't work. Nor does, "Hey Mercedes, show me my Sirius XM Favorites". If I happen to know the channel name and number, sometimes she will tune there if I tell her to. But who memorizes all that info?

You are technically / "legally" correct, @L1Wolf - but so is @SamWeb
And it this price point, to me, it's all about the driving experience and part of that, is music.
Aside from a MB loyalist, to a fault, I'm an auto and truck guy. On the later, todays "lux trucks" (Ford, Ram, & Toyota specifically), all have this subject matter intuitively dialed-in, with a logical one button steering, wheel eyes on the road scroll through your favs.
Toyota took it a step further where if you want to take your eyes off the road to quickly glance at their screen and upcoming next station, you can even see the song and artist queued-up to-be played. Pretty cool.
With my new E class, I'm making unneeded smudge marks on the screen and taking my eyes off the road to either select the next channel, or watch how my finger scrolling is navigating on the screen to where it should be. That's crap. And competitively lagging.
Is it required to "operate" the vehicle? Technically, no.
Is it required to "operate: the vehicle? From a driving experience perspective, heck yeah.

Are you contradicting yourself? You claim, and I quote, "You are fiddling with the audio and get distracted due to the difficulty; it's your fault."
However, I believe that to minimize distractions and limit "fault," there should have been a simple system implemented by MB to avoid having to take your hands off the wheel or divert your eyes from the road.
You make it sound like a hassle, but to me, it is a safety issue.
This feature should have been included from the beginning.

Well, clearly I'm not able to articulate a message that communicates the nuance of what I'm talking about. I agree that it's a bad design and not the way a vehicle entertainment system should work. Sorry to have moved off topic. I'll refrain from injecting my opinions on the topic any further.

Yes I have same issue

On my wife's 2023 GLC300 which has the same newer version of MBUX (i.e., zero layer, etc.) Sirius channels go to Favorites as expected.

SXMFavorites does not show up as a source so the list is not accessible. Also, on the GLC300 with Radio selected in the cluster display you can press OK and it lists the sources and lets you change the source from the steering wheel. This does not work on he E350.

Anyone else run into this problem? Asked the dealer but they were less than helpful. Is this working correctly for anyone?

Excuse the fingerprints - didn't clean screen before taking pictures
