Problem Adding Sirius Channels To Favorites

I picked up my 2024 E350 5 days ago and ran into a problem adding Sirius channels to Favorites. I list out the Sirius channels and click the star to add to Favorites. However, instead of adding it to Favorites it adds it to something called SXMFavorites. FM and AM channels add to Favorites with no problem. On my wife's 2023 GLC300 which has the same newer version of MBUX (i.e., zero layer, etc.) Sirius channels go to Favorites as expected.

SXMFavorites does not show up as a source so the list is not accessible. Also, on the GLC300 with Radio selected in the cluster display you can press OK and it lists the sources and lets you change the source from the steering wheel. This does not work on he E350.

Anyone else run into this problem? Asked the dealer but they were less than helpful. Is this working correctly for anyone?

Excuse the fingerprints - didn't clean screen before taking pictures

E450 2024 May 8, Sirius cannot be added to Favorites of FM,AM stations

Same issues. Sales manager (Cherry Hill NJ,) stated - he called the Mercedes Rep. - “This is an issue on all E350 & E450. He expects a ‘fix for software to address problem”.

My thought is that this is a "feature". If you look there is also a SIRIUS FAVORITES that I have learned to use. Once I set the SIRIUS FAVORITES up, the car brings up the FAVORITES on the top line when I expand the Icon on the lower edge of the NAV screen.

I have also had this problem with adding SXM Favorites in my E450 which i picked up on May 22. I add the favorites and next time that I drive the car, the favorites don't appear in addition to differetn favorites with AM/FM compared to SXM. Did they say when the software fix would be available?

Has anybody been able to get Sirius XM channels into the favorites list? Just had my software updated at the dealer because over the air updates required the base software to be replaced by the dealer. They still go to Sirius XM Favorites and there is no way to select that as a source. This has been a problem since May

I had a problem with my Sirius XM favorites being retainied. I would save several favorite channels but they would disappear over 1-2 weeks as though I had never saved them. I did have the software update that should have also corrected this issue but it still occurs periodically.

If you got them to add to your favorites, you got further then me. I spent close to an hour on the phone with Mercedes customer care this morning and got nowhere. They suggested that I contact the dealer. Spent 15 minutes on the phone with them and got nowhere. They suggest that I bring the car by and have someone look at it. Absolutely ridiculous. I have a 2023 GLC 300 and adding XM channels to favorites works fine. I'm at the latest software level - had it updated by the dealer yesterday.
I'm surprised nobody else on the forum here isn't having the problem.

I was able to add them when I first took delivery of my E450. I would click the star of the specific station which would turn white showing that it is now a favorite. I have had many Mercedes since 1999 and this new MBUX is not an improvement. I don't like that everything is touchscreen, and there are no buttons. I had one brief episode when the screen went blank and I could not control any functions including climate control. Crazy!

Problem Saving to Favorites

Hi. I am having the same problem. We just picked up our 2025 Mercedes GLC 350 E a few days ago. Like you, we are unable to save Sirius Channels to the MBUX Favorites. We can only save them to SXM Favorites. Please let me know if you find a fix for this and I will do the same. Regards Ron

My issue was MBUX not retaining the SXM Favorites once saved. As I said previously, they are initially saved but then disappear after a period of time. I just saved them again so let's see how long it takes for these SXM favorites to disappear.

I am also having the same problem. Picked up my 2025 E450 yesterday and after saving my favorites from Sirius, it goes to the Sirius/XM favorites and not the favorites tab. After watching videos on youtube, it should go to the favorites tab as well making it easy to scroll through all your favorite stations. Is this an isolated problem to some cars or are all E class vehicles having the same problem? How have they not fixed this yet? It seems to have been going on for many months. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?

As far as I know this is all E class vehicles. Previously, I checked with the dealership identified MBUX expert they have and hopefully MB makes a change in a future SW update.

As I mentioned on a previous post, I did have the newest software updates on August 20 and I still had an issue with favorites being retained for an extended period. Presently, my saved favorites are still there after about 1 week so we shall see. I am not sure about if and when there will be another SW update.

I've had this problem since I picket up my E350 on March 28. Reported it to the dealer the next day. I have reported this to the dealer multiple times since then, called customer support several times, emailed customer support several times. No response from anybody. I'm on the latest software and still lots of problems beside the presets. My wife has a 2023 GLC300 and doesn't have these problems - it has other problems. Between the 2 cars the are a number of differences in the user interface. It's like two different software development teams that don't talk to each other. Crazy

I think that I, too am experiencing the same problem that others are having with their "favorites" settings, on their E class radios. I picked up my new 2024 E Class, 3 weeks ago, thought I had several of my local stations in place, as well 3-4 Sirius channels. HOWEVER, I have no idea how to access them, as well as get them in some sort of "numerical order", based on their frequency. I tried looking in the owners manual, but there's no explanation at all .

Is there a video, SOMEWHERE, that explains the procedure?

I can post a video if you like.

Best way to get the Favs: Use Zero Layer (not the default) Then when you touch the Icon that shows what station of your favorites is playing - it will go to all the favs.
I cannot figure out how to ORDER the favs in Frequency order. They stay in Numerical order - but I can play with that.

That would be greatly appreciated!

I'm new to both Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as well as the terminology that goes with them. I should be clearer about what I'm trying to achieve.....I get in the car, fire it up, and the screen gives me dozens of icons, representing dozens of possible stations. The problem is, A) I'm not going to listen to a quarter of them, so there's no need for them taking up space; and B) If I let the Sirius trial subscription to expire, because I'm not going to drive the car through the winter, I'm going to need to lock in the local stations that I have access to, for when I put the car back in the road in the spring. Naturally, I want to lock them in as "favorites", as well as arrange them in order, by frequency, in order to make life easier. And the same situation exists with "regular" stations, that exists with Sirius, that being multiple icons of stations that I don't need.

What I don't understand, is the owners manual is 4-500 pages thick, yet the radio has a VERY MINOR explanation of operation, filling all of 2 pages. And any videos that I've managed to find on my laptop, show how to set up the radio of previous generation E Class cars. This is the second model year, I believe, for this generation of car, so you'd think that by now, there would be videos online, demonstrating what's necessary to accomplish this task......

I too am having this problem. 2025 model (September 2024 build) GLC300. I can add SXM favorites, but they only go the the SXM favorites tab. They don't go to the "main" favorites button. So I can't scroll through SXM channels from steering wheel unless I want to scroll through all of them. Also, when I press the STAR on my steering wheel (supposed to be favorites short cut), it only shows me recent phone calls. Not sure if GLC (X254) is the same system as E class, but add me to the list of annoyed customers.

Anyone figured this out?
What is the STAR button on the steering wheel supposed to do?

Thanks!

Seems favorites are added to each source and not grouped together. I can add a favorite station on FM radio and see it there. I can also add a Satellite radio station and see It there. But I can’t see all favorites in one place. So my favorite stations don’t go away but I have to look for them in the respective places. Someone else may have figured out how to add them to a single list.

Like it or not, it seems to be a design choice of MBUX 3.

One interesting thing, my Owners Manual says the Star on the steering wheel of my 2025 is only for recent phone calls. Not sure if this is accurate, but there is no way to call up any type of audio source favorite in this car with MBUX 3 with the steering wheel. So its lots of using the center MBUX screen to go between Maps and Radio/Audio. So many of the issues would be solved if they could enable split screens like BMW.

Maybe an upcoming software fix will help.

My w213 has a split screen capability. It is an essential feature. If the W214 doesn't have it, I'll need to consider a different vehicle.

Don't go by my comment on that. I was referring to MBUX 3 on the 206/254 platforms. You E folks have the wall of screens, so surely you have split functions (hopefully).
