Smart phone NFC plus Mbrace (Mercedes me connect 2019 onward) acting as a digital key has been around since 2016 when the W213 hit the market. Not all countries have a supported Mbrace app.

It might, the W214 if I recalled correctly supports UWB (ultra wide band) which lots of new android phones have now, they just have to enable support in the Mercedes Me app.

I spent a great deal of time trying to get the Digital Key function to link with my Samsung Galaxy S23. After research I determined that currently the Mercedes Digital Key only works with Apple phones. There are 4 automobile manufacturers that have a Digital Key agreement with Android and Mercedes is not among them.

Mercedes regrets the issues you have faced and have found the solution below:
The Digital Key feature is not yet available for Android devices.
If the CUST has access to an iPhone you can advise the CUST to use that. But the use of Digital Key both as Master User or Friend (shared key) is not possible with Android devices. Only iOS devices can create the digital key and share it, or receive it.
The availability for Android is planned soo, but there is no exact release date yet. The feature is not paid for. Meaning that the CUST is currently not paying for anything that he cannot use.

I guess if they refuse to support it, they could had came up with the solution similar to how BMW does with their keycard thing, Digital Key.

Interesting idea but can the emulator utilize hardware like ultra wide band (UWB)?

Unknown until it is tried. There are many IOS emulators available for Android hardware along with different firmware that can be flashed. Some. combinations work for some Apple apps while others fail running the same apps.

Interesting, so the W214 with the UWB digital key is only supported on the apple devices while the W206 (without UWB) is supported on android?

Is it because of region differences, are you in the USA?

Im sorry I just realized it only supports remote unlocking on the C43, Im getting confused with my X6 LOL

I suspected that might be the case. I can unlock my doors and remote start my W214 with my Android but it will not act as a digital key where having the phone is a replacement for the keyfob allowing you to drive away. That is the digital key. Basically, your phone acts as a keyfob.
