Perfromance Exhaust
Just took delivery on my E450 sedan, same color with the Nappa Grey Interior, super screen, Air suspension, etc. Not crazy about the door handles, I to thought they would open when you approach the car but that's not happening yet. One thing I was disappointed in was I saw on you tube that there was a feature called "Performance Exhaust" in the settings screen, but after reviewing the you tube video again, that screen appears different than mine. Could be a European car but i really liked the sound and was hoping it was available. Going to see if the dealer on my first visit can upload the feature into the car, i's only a sound issue not mechanical.

I saw this video a while back before I got my 450. It was a left hand drive car but not sure where it was. There’s no such menu or option on my car. I thought maybe it was something exclusive within the Pinnacle pkg since I didn’t get that. It seems there’s quite a few things that are not available in the US.

I know it wasn't an AMG just the E450, and if I recall it was a left hand drive car. Let me try to figure out how to link the video. It was for sure only a sound system and nothing mechanical, that I know for sure. Thanks.

I really doubt it says performance exhaust if it not an amg. Still curious, you know, curiosity killed the cat so if you do find the video then please link it. Otherwise that is the progressive sport sound feature not performance exhaust.

In that video, the car also has rear climate control which is not available in the US. I also assumed my E450 with every available option included would have Progressive Sport Sound, but it does not. I reached out to MBUSA not long after taking delivery the end of August. They said that it's only available in the AMG models. That doesn't seem correct as there are at least two videos I have seen with that feature available in a non-AMG E450. Another thing missing are the digital vent controls. Seems odd that these things would be specifically omitted in the US. Not sure why.

As for them wrong you are right, performance exhaust is on amg only but progressive sport sound is in 450 of both C236 CLE and W214 E, if it is not there, it is a market decision by mbusa.

Hey thanks, that is the video I was referring to. So my screen does not have the " Progressive Sport Sound" on the screen. My dealer told me I had one of the highest optioned E450 sold to date, I did not see this option on any of my build lists so I just assumed it must be standard or at least with the E450? Anyway, I don't have it so now I am trying to figure out if my Dealer or if someone knows how to adjust the software and provide the option on the screen. My other Mercedes is an AMG so I would like to have at least the sound with my wife's new car.

That said, Europe's cars of the same model and tier is usually more expensive than the equivalent car in the USA from what I heard and USA have lemon law.

They don't make the AMG with Nappa Grey leather interior, a must for my wife. She is not into the sport stuff, even progressive sound would be for me driving alone!!! Oh well, when I bring in the car for service I will have my Service writer do some research to see if software can be changed. If I go to MBUSA myself they will tell me it's not in North American cars. They should change their advertising then, in my opinion. I just drove the car to have PPF and Ceramic installed and the rear camera went black, not a good sign for day three of ownership. Oh Well. Thanks for the update.

Doubtful the dealer will be able to program in something that is not available in the USA. Perhaps Benz ninja here on these forums could unlock the progressive sound feature. I might be interested in it if it could be done for a reasonable price.

Just and update. I heard back from Benz Ninja, and they are currently not coding for MBUX2 vehicles, but they should start up again next year. They didn't mention if they could actually add the sound back into the system so I guess I will just have to wait and see. Second option is to buy a 2026 C63 SE V8 if and when...
