Took delivery of my All terrain.

Just got my 2025 All Terrain today. Everything went smooth. The dealer was great. Used MB of Clearwater Florida. There’s quite a few new features over my 2019 e450 but also surprised that some good features on the older models are no longer available. One thing I’ll miss is the ability to move the passenger seat from the drivers side with the button on the door. That was useful. Also gonna miss the storage net to the left of the passenger seat. I use to tuck my hp placard in there. Still getting use to the door handles. They don’t pop open based on proximity of the key. I thought they would open whenever the key got close to the car. Maybe something is not set right in the settings? If I swipe them multiple times with my finger sometimes they pop open other times it takes pushing the open button on the fob to do the trick. I’m still getting use to things with this car. The car came with the 20 inch Bridgestone Turanza tires. The steering feeels a little bit vague not a lot of road feel like my 213 did. Maybe it’s a combo of the higher sidewalk profile size and the tires. The 213 I had felt much more sports car like and agile probably just gonna take a while to get use to this car. It’s very smooth and quiet and takes numbs very nicely. The 4 d soindsystem sounds good. Not as good as the 3d in my SClass but I didn’t expect it to be.

Congrats! The adjustment of passenger side from driver side was removed since 213 facelift. This vehicle is more S Class than the E has ever been including but not limited to size and ride and so far has a more modern design than even the W223 S Class before its facelift.

Don't forget to post in the picture thread, enjoy in good health! https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...re-thread.html

Congratulations! Beautiful car.

The door handles only pop out if the car is locked and you approach with the fob. Or, if you have been away for a little while. At least that is what I have noticed. I have on two or three occasions had them close on me when I try to open the door. It was aggressive in a way that made me feel that it would have closed on my hand if I didn't pull away. In any case, a swipe is not the only way to have them push out. You can touch the dimple to have them come out or to have them retract and lock the car. Much more consistent than the swipe which doesn't always work.

I have a feeling one of the reasons why the car handles not so well and has kinda a numb steering feel might be the Bridgestone Turanza tires. When they wear out I’ll probably put on Conti dws 06 tires or something like that. Still can’t quite figure out the drivers door handle not popping out when I swipe it with my finger. The other doors work ok. I guess for now I’ll lock the doors every time I leave the car. Seems like pushing on the dimple only locks the doors. Was trying out the YouTube app today watching some music videos. Very good picture quality and sound.

congrats Merc
she's a beauty. I really like the color choice. I too missed the feature of being able to control the front passenger seat.. Once you drive the car for a bit I'm sure you will enjoy the tech and the ride..In my opinion this car is much improved over the 213..

Car looks good regardles, as for driver side not popping out might be a software issue that can be patched.

In the meantime, does swiping the passenger side also bring out the driver side? If so, might be a temporary solution for now until it gets fixed.

Yes been swiping the rear door handle and that pops all the door handles out. The drivers door works about one time outta 20 swipes. I’ll get it checked out at the dealer when I’m in for my first maintenance. There are a variety of other ways to pop the door hands such as via the pin key or the other 3 handles or just lock the car and when the fob gets close to the car they pop out automatically. Really starting to enjoy the car though now that I’m learning all the new tech stuff. The infotainment system is probably the best out of any car out there it’s pretty amazing. The car will probably loosen up some too once it gets broken in. I think different tires will help with the steering feel and handling. I’ll wait till these Bridgestones wear out though. Probably in 20 k miles or so.

My drivers side door handle does the same thing as yours. Sometimes pops right out on a swipe other times not. Not a big enough deal for me to bring it in, but I will have them check it when I do get a service.

Yes some padding for around where the side of my knee hits the center console. I have no feeling in my legs and if the side of the knee were to remain hitting against the side of the center console I'd end up with skin damage on a long trip which would take months to heal. My Fiancé saw this and made the pillow for me. I attached it with doubled over gorilla tape but I can tell that's probably not gonna last long, I can remove the residue with adhesive remover but I've gotta figure out a better way to attach it without damaging the cars interior.

Took the tape off. Thanks anyhow for the suggestion. I don’t think any tape is going to hold on the pad onto that interior material so what I’m do is just keep the pad on the floor and wedge the pad in when I need it. Pretty amazing picture quality on the infotainment.

Seems to be staying on ok. Thought I had a good deal on this car at 9 percent off but the dealer wants 10k more for my trade in than they gave me. lol. Oh well. I guess if you average it out it’s like I got 5 percent off.

They sell these on Temu and Amazon if you search for car knee cushion. Here's one example:
Car Knee Cushion Pads, High-density Memory Foam, For Comfort and Pain Relief while Driving (Black, Set of 2) https://a.co/d/3txKZlq

I thought I was also having trouble with my driver's side door handle as well. I now don't think it was the handle but was my technique. I'm used to just tapping door handles to lock/unlock and that's the approach I was taking. And I was miffed that the driver's side door handle did not extend when tapped. I've found over the last week or so that placing 3 fingers on the middle of the handle when the car is unlocked and holding them there for a second or two is the magic move. Seems to work every time for me now.

Interesting so there is a particular way to do it, I guess it was user error? I haven't looked at the manual but was there any mention of a proper/official way to do it?

Interesting I’ll give that a try. Strange though how it’s different for the other three door handles lol. As long as the car doesn’t start playing keep on knocking but you can’t come in on the radio I’m happy 😀

The driver door handle is the main handle and the most important handle so it has to be different

The placing of three fingers on the drivers door seems to work. Good suggestion. Seems like the best thing though even in my own garage is just to lock the car that way the door popper handles are ready and waiting for me when I come out to the garage.

With unlocking the drivers door putting three fingers on it in front of the indentation to lock the door seems to work in opening the door so thats good news. The other three doors I can just swipe and thats no problem.
