My update arrived on Friday, installed with no issues. I can't find anything new or any changes. Took about 15 minutes to download and install.

Anyone could post the system version with a photo? Is it MBUX3.1 or something else?

I haven't gotten it yet, but based on the description it's likely not an MBUX update. It's a communication module update. That could be a part of MBUX, but I'm guessing it's a subsystem and not something you will see as a version change. If so, it's likely a minor number change meaning the MBUX version did not change. Keep in mind, I'm guessing here based on the limited data I have about the update, but with my experience with software development.

Every iteration of MBUX jump requires new hardware so only possible for model year changes or facelift, for example MBUX 1.0, MBUX 2.0 and MBUX 3.0 all have different hardware, W214 will only be getting 3.x updates for the life of the vehicle, unless MBUX 4.0 is backward compatible with 3.0. Unlikely because MB is focusing on MB OS and abandoning MBUX altogether. 3.x updates include the FreshUp updates.

I'm glad to hear that the update went smoothly for most of you. Unfortunately, it caused several issues on my end, including de-linking my car from the Mercedes Me app (which I’ve mentioned in a separate post).

One problem I still haven’t been able to fix is the misaligned heads-up display. I managed to adjust it slightly by going into the factory settings mode, but it’s still far from how it was before the update. I'm still trying to figure out the connection.

I guess the new normal for MB nowadays is, got a module? There is an update for that? So perhaps there is an update that targets the module that controls the HUD?

Finally got my update yesterday. Everything went smoothly. What was interesting is that all the digital extras reinitialized and I got a notice that they were enabled. The way I interpret the below is that this is a precursor to more substantial updates.

Yes, Wolf, my thoughts exactly. Support stated that the next update will include the Digital Light as an extra which allows the firmware and software updates then purchase subscription of sorts. Allows the Welcome/Farewell and the street warnings when available any day now in the States.

Sounds like an important update. I just got notice of it a couple days ago on the app. I guess I’ll download it next time I get in the car.

I don't know. Other than a different description with some similar language and it being 2 years ago on an EQS thread, it's identical. Do you have a point to bringing it up for comparison? That thread never came to a conclusion of what the update changed just as this one has not.

I think it made the T-Mobile complimentary data package possible.

Sorry, I was just curious. I guess it is the typical placeholder change log that everyone uses when they don't want to state the specific changes.

I was hoping there were more details/clues on the update you were pointing me to that I was unaware of. You are probably right that it's a canned message. I'm just glad that the OTA worked and that it only updated after I allowed it and provided my password. Now just need to wait for the next update that may have some noticeable, and useful changes.

I mean, back then MB like to include their changelog in the Mercedes Me app but now they just include a generic changelog, sort of like on the App store, apps just say improvements and bug fixes.

For specific version updates like MBUX 2.6 as an example there is some sort of change log, other smaller updates like freshup updates don't have changelog. Will be nice if they all do. For example like windows, every update shows the knowledge base number which you can then go to Microsoft's website to see the changes.

BTW, this was not an MBUX update. My MBUX version never changed. It's still E262.3-4975 which has been the same since I took delivery in August 2024.
