Can you control your high beams manually

Hi, Just a question. 2024 E350 has automatic high beam feature. Can I manually change the high beams?
I know I can do it by pushing the stick back but I have to hold it there to keep the high beams on. Is there a way
to turn them on so they stay on and turn them off when I want to. Thanks, Charlie

Yes, turn the headlight dial to manual and high/low beams work just like any other car.

Yes as mentioned, after you switch it to manual, you just push the stalk forward and the high beam will stay on. Lift it back to turn it back on, if you switch the switch back to auto, then you will see the high beam auto icon displayed in the instrument cluster and will be back to automatic.

Pushing/Lifting or holding the stalk backwards and release is only meant to high beam flash once or twice for example letting someone in your lane, or if you are at a stop sign and you want the other person to go first.

I don't know anything about a manual setting -- in my 2018 -- you just push the stalk forward to keep them on, or back to flash them on/off.

Yours doesn't have ILS right and adaptive high beams?

All good but that explains why you can just push the stalk forward for manual high beams without switching the light switch to manual.

I never knew it was possible to use the high/low beam switch without it being automatic by being in Manual mode. Here just left it in Auto all the time on my 213 the past 6 years it was probably the same on that car that you could use it without it being in "Auto". Good info,

I leave mine on auto, but it can often be a pain. It will switch to low due to porch or street lights confusing them for oncoming cars. It will also get a reflection from the road or signs and switch to low. It can be annoying and I wish there were settings to decrease the sensitivity. Sometimes, I will switch to manual si it stops switching back and forth for no reason, but then I have to remember to manually switch to low when a car is actually there.

That is when having ILS+ will be nice, at least it won't turn off completely, sadly North America MBs don't have the full functionality of it or any of it at all. Wish you can code W214 already but looks like coders are not able to code it... Yet.

Yes, I'm waiting for when they can. It's silly that it's not enabled in the US.
