Temp/climate control switches on evry time car starts

Hello Folks,
W214 E300e - every time I get into the car and turn it on the climate control (fan and temp) on - even though I've turned it off when I left. As for the Sync - god alone knows . it seems to have a mind of it's own regarding front and back Ive just given up on that.
The radio used to turn itself on every time too but at least that's stopped. If I know how dependant everything is in the car on the central screen thingmy I would never have purchased - give me tacticity with buttons any day. All help much appreciated re the climate control turning itself on automatically - how do I stop that?. Plus only get about 30 miles if I'm lucky on the battery.

Profile syncing, when you start the vehicle, it will prompt you to select your profile. It defaults to guest until you select one and authentic with a PIN or biometrics.

Do you then authenticate? You might have access protection turned off.

Mine is doing the same. It is standard, and the same happens with the infotainment (music). If I set the air blowers to a specific possition when I restart the car the move back the central possiton. It also forget the DigiVent setups at every startups.

It is very annoying, you cannot do anything with that.

no. Just when I get in and press the start button it’s an absolute pain. The seat sometimes move of. It’s own accord and sometimes the heating/air
con just doesn’t work. Why in earth would you not want the radio and climate control the same as when you left it - so the car thinks it knows better than the driver and turns things on? The dealer said that that’s meant I happen - eh-why? The glitches and things like this and the complete over automisatuon and also the annoying screen that you have to use with the lack of tactile buttons mean I will never buy another merc. Too clever by half. Oh and also the local dealer is just awful. Never again and I’ve been brand loyal for 15 years. Time for a change. Sorry for the rant but I found that rather cathartic!

On many newer Mercs, the climate control is designed to default on every time you start the car, as part of the automatic comfort settings.

Go into the AC menu on the MBUX screen, then check if “Auto” is enabled.

Disable both “Auto” and the “Pre-entry climate control” option in the vehicle settings under ‘Comfort’ > ‘Climate Control’.

Wait so this is standard behaviour on the W214? It wouldn't make sense as if you turn it off it should indeed be off like other MBs.

Even remote start won't turn it on unless it was set to auto from experience but again my experience doesn't include a W214.

That is expected behaviour so really not sure what happened to OP's car. Unless there is a setting that was missed.

I have the same car as you (E300e) and I've had none of these problems. Maybe you should plan to spend a few evenings with the manual . . .

Or maybe there is an actual software issue with OP's car you never know I guess.

Hello folks. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I have tried all the suggestions - everything so far and it still does it. I have even taken it in to the (useless) dealer here in Scotland. I see that one of the other posters in this has the same issue. The dealer even said that this is the norm - so I don’t know if I’m just being fed a line by them - my point to them is - why in earth would I want the radio and climate control turned in every time I got into the car when I turned it off when I got out.
anyway if any more comments on how this
might be fixed that would be fantastic! It’s driving me
nuts!

I wonder if it is region specific, certain regions have it on for whatever reason, it seems the folks in the usa don't have this problem.

My climate settings stay where I left them. But my radio volume doesn't, not only volume level but mute also. At least the stations stay. And every once in awhile I can see the turn signal indicators so I know my seat/steering wheel settings have mysteriously changed, requiring hitting the memory button. 2024 E450 AT.
