More movement on the sedans. My dealer informed me the sedan was released for launch and as of this morning it is now on MBUSA.com. Now I just hope we all get our cars soon.

For the E53, was the dash cam a $200 option last year or is that new?

Dash camera is a digital extra and is $200 for permanent activation. If you order it with that checked, it will likely just be pre-purchased in the digital extras. If you don't then you can add it at any time later. All W214s have the hardware by default.

The 2025 to 2026 price increase for the E53 Hybrid is about 2% which is less than the current inflation rate. Seems like the tariffs had little to no impact on MSRP.

To me, it looks like a conscious decision to absorb the cost, when it comes to the cars themselves. They will make their money on the back-end, on the parts/accessories/components, which inherently has super-high margins (80%+). And to make that money on the backend, a prime requirement is to have enough of the installed base (the cars) in the hands of customers.

And MB also raised the destination fee by 10%. That delivery fee is on all vehicles sold in the US including the ones manufactured here. (Roughly 375k MB's sold per year in the US can add up...)

I suspect they're hedging their bets that the tariffs will be ruled illegal and this will only be temporary. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case, which doesn't bode particularly well since they are generally seen as being in the administration's favor. Still, two lower courts have already ruled against the administration, so perhaps there is hope. For the European auto parts import business I run in the US, I certainly hope that's the case. I'm currently eating tariffs to insulate my customers from drastic price increases.

Interesting, as it seems the sedan has been released along with some other models like CLE53.

Waiting patiently. But hope it’s not too much longer

At least for the E53, MBFS has more than doubled the lease interest from 2025 to 2026. Roughly +10k for an average lease.

Out of curiosity, are the below parts something that you can help procure:

The 2026 E53 sedan configurator is available on mbusa.com. Still waiting for the 2026 E53 wagon.

The E53 wagon is partially up on MBUSA. Pricing isn't uploaded on the base or trims. I hope that it is an error that the Alpine Grey isn't listed in the build. Nor are the entertainment portions of the exclusive and pinnacle trims. Hopefully the full website version will be along soon...

Sounds like great news. Seems like another step closer.

Alpine Gray was definitely offered, was orderable and was in the ordering guide. Probably an error.

interesting the wagon doesn’t have pricing up yet but sedan has it.

the whole thing seems wonky. Weird that there is no pricing. If you configure one and then get a pdf of the configuration, you get some very odd pricing.

When I ordered my 2025 it was the same. My order showed the MSRP at a million dollars at one point.

the dealer system showed $7 million. The online configuration tool shows $5,000. I prefer the latter.

It's interesting that the financing interest rate is only 1.9% for 36 month loans.

2026 E53 Wagon
Looking at the MBUSA E53 wagon build website, it appears the Burmester 4D surround sound and associated audio systems are part of the "standard" package. Not sure if I even need the exclusive trim level let alone the pinnacle trim. The exclusive is $2450 and includes heat/noise window film, Digital Light and active ambient internal lighting. Sure, it'd be neat to have them, but for $2450? And while the website shows "price coming soon" in certain areas of the website for the E53 wagon, if you go to the "discover" section, it shows a base price tag of $93,350.

Would I like to have a bunch of the trim packages? Sure. Can I live without them? Absolutely. Especially if I can be out the door for around $100k. Heck, I am now even thinking of going with the Nautical Blue or the Sonoran Brown instead of the Alpine Grey and saving even more money.

Does anyone know what items can be built a la carte? Like if I just want Digital Light or the heads-up? can these be added or only in a trim package?

I saw that…but then you don’t get the EV tax credit. Doubt that’s a coincidence…

Correct me if I am wrong, but these cars were never eligible for the EV tax credit, right? To be eligible, the car has to be manufactured (whatever that means nowadays) in America and these are solely manufactured in Germany, and the car can't be over $80,000...

^ These do qualify for the lease credit loophole. And maybe the purchase credit if the buyer is under the income cap…never looked into it.

There is a loophole until September 30, 2025. If you lease the car, you can get the $7500 EV credit. Not sure if you must meet the income requirements, but the country of origin and $80K threshold don't apply.
