E/W214: pre paid maintenance

pre paid maintenance
Does anyone know if your mercedes service advisor can see if a car was sold to a new owner?
I just bought a 6 month old used e450 and i saw on the vmi that is has prepaid maintenance and extended warranty. I won’t be able to transfer it because i bought it from a dealer (not mercedes) so i was curious if i can just tell the service advisor that I am dropping off the car for the original owner (i happen to have their name and address). I think this should work unless they can see in their system that the owner has changed.
Does anyone know?

Unless you can get it transferred over to you, there is not much you can do. The prior owner may have actually gotten some of their money back. The extended warranty is refundable at the very least but I'm not sure about the pre-paid maintenance plan. Trying to fool the dealership into thinking you are the original owner or that you are acting on behalf of the original owner is fraud and not worth the risk in my opinion.

How about try it and let us know how it goes? I just paid $4000 on top of the intial $4000 to extend the maintenance. So yeah the stuff isn’t cheap. (I think I actually paid low or mid 3000’s but the original quote they gave me was $4000, and I paid this twice but now covered until like 70000 miles.)

I had an extended warranty from M-B on my W213 E400 Wagon. When I traded it in for my W214 Wagon, M-B refunded me the pro-rated extended warranty that was on the W213. I did not have pre-paid maintenance.

I do not think the same applies for pre-paid maintenance: You use it or lose it.
