FS: Carsoft v7.4 multiplexer scanner / diagnostics
This is a multiplexer unit that works with Carsoft diagnostic software v7.4, and your Windows PC. The PC you use must have a 9-pin serial (COM) port. I'm not sure what the OS requirements are, but it works fine on my laptop with Windows XP SP2. I ended up with two of these systems (long story) and don't need the extra. I tested the software, multiplexer, and 38-pin cable and they work fine. (I don't have vehicles available to test the other cables.) I believe this system works on vehicles through 2003. (?) Here's what you get:
- Multiplexer interface box, "all K-lines wired"
- 38-pin interface cable
- 16-pin OBD-2 interface cable
- 14-pin Sprinter interface cable
- Cable for older 8- and 16-pin vehicles (late 80's, early 90's)
- Serial cable to PC
- Carsoft software v7.4
$160, free shipping in the USA. See photo below.

And will this let me look at all the codes instead of going to the stealership? If not then what does it not check? ie..trans, ac???
These might be dumb questions but I have never bought or seen these systems in person so I am not aware of all it can do.
Thanks,
Greg
I believe it will do what you want for your 2000 model year car. My car is a 1994, and is OBD1 (sort of), not OBD2. The setup has pretty limited functionality on my old car, but for your CLK, it will show error codes, allow you to re-set them, do coding & adaptation, and also show live data with the engine running. But I haven't been able to try some of this stuff since it's not applicable to my car (I can only read & delete error codes).
I took some screen shots of the software, that will show you all the options available in the menu. I also took a couple of screen shots of what the error code display looks like. Click here to download the Zip file (1MB) with the pictures...

It does adaptation erase, which I believe re-sets certain modules back to factory defaults, which shouldn't cause any problems.
The coding is for certain modules from roughly 1995/96-up, where they had to be VIN coded to match the vehicle. This software will "read" the coding on the existing module, then "write" it to the new module you're installing.
Neither applies to my W124, which is why I'm selling it...
