First Impressions: My New EQB 300
The only negatives thus far:
My "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant doesn't seem to be working. It worked at the dealership, but I have not been able to get it to work since leaving the dealership. Not a big deal but it's annoying to have a feature not work.
I'm not getting close to the EPA range of 240 miles thus far. I've seen other new EQB customers have similar experiences, so maybe it just takes time for the system to adjust to a new driver. But, in those first 100 miles I am only averaging 2.7 kw/h, which by my math is a total range of about 189 miles. To be fair, about 25 of those miles have been in sport mode and the other 75 were spent on the interstate, but still...it's a tad bit alarming. For my specific needs (city driving, 10 mile work commute, charging at home), this won't be a big deal, but it should be a warning to potential buyers who may spend most of their time on the interstate. I'm really curious if that 2.7 increases over time. I recall one of the MB trainers who had put 5000 miles on his EQB was averagin 3.4 kw/h which is line with the EPA ratings.

I am driving in Comfort mode 95% of the time and using the D-Auto setting for braking. Temps have been in the eighties. My EQB has the 19" inch tires which also has a negative impact on range from what I have read. Charging at home via the Charge Point Home Flex (50 am circuit) has been great - no complaints or issues. This is how I will charge the vast majority of the time. We took an 85 mile (each way) road trip this weekend and I decided to test out public charging A) to get a feel for it and B) to add some range on the front leg just to ensure there weren't any issues getting home. I first stopped at the Mercedes dealership where I purchased the car and used their Charge Point charger. Everything worked fine and the charge process was relatively straight forward, but I ended up getting charged $.50 per kw when the dealership had told me it's free to charge there. I then tested an Electrify America station on my way home and it was a disaster. The first charge attempt lasted three minutes for stopping due to an unknown erro. I then attempted to switch chargers and none of them were available for use (system issues). I left thinking "this is why I can't trust the public charging infrastructure yet".
Thank you,
I've just bought the same model, it looks like we have the same model, do you have active cruise control ?
I've just created a thread on upgrading if you mind looking on it -

That said, the EQB will "fast charge" at 100Kw from the Electrify America DC (level 3) fast chargers, for example. It will also charge at 9.8Kw from any standard J1772 level 2 charger (like you would have installed at home.)
Some hotels and retail establishments offer "free" level 2 charging using Tesla equipment. TeslaTap sells an adapter to use a Tesla charger on a non-tesla (J1772) vehicle, but once again this is not for use at Tesla network charging stations that require a Tesla account.
