Talking It's an EQB!

We picked up our EQB this morning! Timeline: spec'd in April 2022, received allocation in July, built in August, shipped from factory in September, loaded on ship in Bremerhaven in December, arrived at VPC in January, arrived at dealer here in Minnesota (USA) in early February.

So far in the first 20 miles it's been everything we'd hoped for. FWIW, the window sticker matched the data card and it was built with no missing equipment or options. Data card attached below for the curious.

Now, I'm headed back out to the garage to play...

She's a well optioned beauty, congrats!

Now that the ordering and delivery part of the journey is over let the fun begin.

Enjoy!

This is the color I chose as well. We got the macchiato beige interior. Ours arrives Baltimore VPC on/@ 25 FEB. From there it only has to travel 1.5 hours to NJ.

GLAD YOU LIKE IT!!

Lucky duck! I am so eager for my EQB 250 to arrive. I wish there was a way to track it.

When we were picking up ours there was another 350 being prepped with your color combo. Looked sharp!

There is, at least while it's on a ship. If you have the ship name from your dealer you can track virtually every ship at sea using any one of several websites.

You can also find your ship name from the shipping company itself.

Track&Trace ==> CUST REF NUMBER ==> enter your MB PO# (not the VIN)

From a distance I was hoping it was a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle but alas, it was a mini tower of bundt cakes which the kids inhaled later.

Lovely! Also ordered the Denim Blue except in a 300. Ordered 2/1/23 and still awaiting an allocation. Hoping I don't have to wait too long for allocation since lease on my GLE350 is up in October.

Yes.

But then again, for the price difference it better be. Compared to the loaner GLBs I've driven it's very fast, smooth, composed, and quiet. It's amazing how similar it is in practicality, appearance, and function to a GLB, but yet how dramatically improved the actual experience is.

Initial build quality seems fine compared to my other MB vehicles (GL350 & E350). Some of the plastics on the lower panels in the interior reflect the GLBs place on the Mercedes lineup but that's a material issue and not a build quality issue.

FWIW, the EQB is built at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, not the COMPAS (Nissan & Mercedes) plant in Mexico where the GLB originates.

Pretty sure the Nissan plant is in the US and that is not working out. The GLB is manufactured in Mexico and the Germans are working the QA controls out

This is absolutely great news to me!!!

Ive driven the GLB many times as a loaner and test drove an EQB 3 months ago. I’m becoming more and more optimistic.

I think we are expecting by Mar 15. Should arrive in Baltimore 2/25

2021 Glb35 AMG (2013 GLK 350)
It depends on what you drove... GLB250 is similar to EQB250/300 and EQB350 is closer to GLB35... Electric vehicles have lot of torque compared with ICE cars, esp compared to GLB's with small turbo engines... Coming from GLK V6, GLB35 starts slowly (of course unless you launch in Sport + mode) then speeds up much faster with turbo+dct... Disadvantage of the electrical is the extra 1000lbs weight on the curvy roads as I tested a hybrid X3... Motor Trend results with figure 8 track numbers:

Lovely color.... I would have picked up that one too but I bought it from the lot with Galaxy Blue color... Enjoy your car!

I think I remember seeing your GLB35 in the the GLB section. Very sharp and great photos!

IMHO, the EQB350 and GLB35 are the extremes on either side of the median. The GLB35 is clearly the sportiest version while the EQB falls over (hard) on the luxury side and there's no way the EQB keeps up with the GLB35 when the roads get twisty. Meanwhile, it's utterly amazing how smooth and refined the EQB is compared to the baseline GLB250. Mercedes development engineers used all their magic and years of experience with mastering NVH on the EQB. And it's not just because the EQB is an EV. For further comparison, the Tesla Y is significantly faster (0-60) and offers far longer range than the EQB, but (IMHO) it rides and sounds like a tin can in comparison.

Gotta say that it in the real world it's awesome riding around on the EQB350's massive wave of silent torque. City and suburban driving is point and squirt.

Thanks. I saw in below review that EQB350 front wheels were spinning at launch with 235 19" tires, pretty good torque. It needs definitely wider 255 tires I was spinning the 235's on GLK with 90 degree exit at the ramp from our office, but not 255's on GLB35 as GLB doesn't have that instantaneous torque at the start and maybe the traction ctrl doesn't allow... Also the EQB battery might give better sound insulation from the road... I see EQB350 has tinted glass.. GLB35 doesn't get the tinted windows with 2" lower clearance at 6" compared to GLB250 at 8"...

My EQB should be in this week. Did you buy or lease? Can you email me at dvenneman@hotmail.com or call at 732-939-7144 to give me insight to the deal(s) you were presented?

Was gonna pay cash but ended up leasing for 36 months. (Didn't want to risk a negative IRS interpretation for the tax rebate based on the current IRS guidance.)

No big secrets as original deal was MSRP. Thus it became MSRP minus $8K cap reduction from combining both of the current MB EQ lease offers. We have excellent credit but the MBFS money factor was still abysmal, IMHO.

Back of the napkin suggests we'll still come out ahead assuming we'll want to buyout at lease end and that's even if we would've received the tax rebate.

YMMV

Our EQB300 came in as well and we're going to check it out tomorrow. Like you mentioned, even though we ordered before the new rules, we probably won't qualify as our deposit was pretty small and refundable. The salesman said we could get the 7500 if we lease the car and then buy it which sounds like it might be the same deal you did. Having never leased a car before, I wonder if you have to wait the whole three years before buying it or can you break the lease early. Normally, we pay cash for cars but in this case, the 7500 might make it advantageous to lease for at least a little while.

I've had my EQB 350 for two months now but have driven it only about 250 miles because of being out-of-town for extended periods. I had traded in an E53 because, at 77, I was driving too fast too often and needed to cultivate a more grandfatherly driving style. I also wanted to move to a battery electric vehicle. The EQB is my sixth Mercedes.
Here are some first impressions:
• The EQB is every centimeter a Mercedes; the fit and finish are exemplary, perfect paint, uniform panel gaps, doors close with bank vault solidity, no squeaks or rattles anywhere; interior materials don't match those of an E-Class but they are quite acceptable
• Outward visibility as well as entry and exit are revelations compared with sedans and large SUV's. The A-pillars offer very little obstruction to forward view so you can see the front corners perfectly. Entering the car is just rotate and sit. You don't have to climb into or fall into the seats
• The drivetrain is quiet, smooth, and very quick off the line. I really like the absence of ICE noise and exhaust despite being a car enthusiast for 70 years. At highway speeds, there is still adequate passing power but don't expect AMG 50 - 70 acceleration. Handling is OK, but again, don't expect AMG cornering capability. In retrospect, I would have ordered the variable-damping option.
- Charging with a home wall box (ChargePoint) is easy and can be monitored from your cell phone via the MercedesME app -- 20% to 80% capacity in about six hours.
- The Surround View included with the Pinnacle Package makes the EQB very easy to manuever. Absence of it would have been a dealbreaker.
In short, I am delighted with the car. It was well worth the wait.

Helpful review, thx!

Mine was a cash deal at MSRP. My traded 2021 E53 was pristine with only about 6500 miles, so I had the happy finance office experience of getting a check from the dealer at EQB delivery time.😀

Dealer was happy also, I bet. A pristine E53 is a prize for the used side.
