EQB HUD / Carplay or Android Auto
FWIW, the same turn info can also be displayed in the center of the driver’s display if desired, or if one does not have the HUD. It’s not a moving map display but it shows an arrow with direction of turn, distance, and street name—-basically the same info that’s in the info box on the CarPlay map.
My one complaint with the HUD is that it’s polarized on a different axis from the interior LCD screens so I can’t use polarized sunglasses.
Use the steering wheel buttons to select the Navigation options on the driver’s display. You can selection different information customizations for the left, right, and center of the screen. Turn-by-turn is an option for the center portion and works with either CarPlay or the internal navigation system. Repeat the setup to customize the HUD display if installed.
Also, and as far as I’ve seen, it appears that all 2023 EQBs have version 549 (at least in the USA) as standard. In contrast, the 2022 models used 548 and 549 was only included if one ordered the Technology Package.
For those curious, 549 uses a higher powered Nvidia SOC with upgraded CPU/GPU/Memory compared to the previously standard 548.
549 also enables the full screen map display on the driver side.
