Received announcement from MBUSA that effective 2/4/25 Tesla supercharging network will be available to EQ drivers! Requires a $185 adapter available at MB dealers. The dealer will also check to determine if vehicle needs a software update to utilize the Tesla network. Must enable in the Mercedes app and then the app will also find locations of Tesla chargers that can be entered as destinations. Apparently not all Tesla chargers will work. They must be of the newer generation that has longer cables. But supposedly this is accounted for in the app. Charge via the app or MBUX unit. Plug and play models (certainly not my 2023 EQB300) just need to plug in. Hope this will work because hopefully I'll feel secure taking the vehicle longer distances.
Spoke with my dealer today who anticipates the adapters will arrive middle to end of February. He also believes that the EQB will need a software update but has gotten no official word as such. So my rep says he will put one aside for me and set up the update if required.

We've been talking about this over at the EQS forum also. I have not tried my EQB yet, but I can confirm that you already can charge an EQS at Tesla Superchargers, or at least the chargers that have been upgraded with the longer cords (you can use their search tool to locate which chargers accept non Teslas). You need to buy an adapter--I bought the Lectron product. Use the Tesla app and select charge other EV. I selected a Ford, and off it went charging on the first try. I believe MB is going to use a Lectron product also, just with a MB stamped on the side. So, you can go ahead and get started now if you are so inclined.

The Tesla App supports MB EQS as a supported model now, no need to set it to Ford or other brand. Just load the Tesla App, set up your profile with charge card, and navigate to the Tesla chargers. Input the charger station number when you get there and the App will sync the station to initiate a charge.Originally Posted by nath_h

Got notification in Mercedes app as well as on MBUX head unit that NACS charging is available. Option to toggle that "have NACS adapter." Have a call into my dealer to see whether they have received adapters yet. Originally was told end of February.
This is great news! I am planning a trip to NYC in March and this would be very useful. I own an EQS 450 4MATIC (2024) - So if I understand this right:
1. I need to wait for the app update and/or my HUD telling me NACS compatibility is available or can I just look for a Tesla supercharger right away and try and charge my car there (with the NACS adapter)? I am on mobile app version 3.51.0 (iOS) and have received no notification either in my app or my HUD
2. When it comes to purchasing the adapter, is the recommendation to buy it from mercedes to be absolutely sure of quality or is a Lectron assured to be the same?
Thanks

Hi. I received this message also, so I was exited and went to my local MB Dealer. In the Parts Department I was told that I will receive this adapter only with an Service that will either determine and or will perform a Sorftware update.
Since I have the worst experience with this specific and other MB Serive Departements, I was not happy with this information. When I went to the Service Desk to explain what I need, I was first greated by some young man who guided me first inside to leave my name and phone number and vehicle details on a pink slip. ?? Then I got my car into the Service Bay. Then this young man lead me to the Service manager or whoever these people are. He than, armed with an old stile paper Clipboard, was letting me know that I would have to leave my car with them and order a loaner. ?? I asked if this can not be dealth with in a shorter, wait for it, manner. He said no. I have to leave the car with them.
I have been treated here with a horrible Service before with a Ice Mercedes, so I opted out and left without the new adapter. After some consideration and have seen on a YouTube video the new Ionna Stations, I realized that there will be a Problem coming to all ccs1 equipped EVs in the future when you reach a Charging hub and all ccs1 chargers are in use and only the Nacs Stations might be free. I would need this Adapter that they sell only in an forced to have Service way.
Could someone please tell me if an Adapter sold on Amazon is able to work for me (EQB 350/ 2023) on the other than Tesla nacs Station that are popping up now? Thank you.
And MB - get with the time and update your service staff with some iPads to get customer service that’s integrated in the customer Databank. It would speed things up for everyone.
Mercedes-great Cars, horrible Service.

A few points:
1) There are two types of adapters for NACS cables and fast charging (aka supercharging) requires the DC type. Less expense AC adapters for home or overnight charging have been around for a while. They are not the same. (The NASC plug itself is the same for AC and DC.)
2) The adapters are generic (in concept) and one can use 3rd party adapters. However, be very wary of “cheap” adapters as these things are handling 400v of DC current and very expensive automobiles.
3) One can use the Tesla app to search for charging locations that do not require an adapter. (Their latest supercharging version has an adapter built-in.)
4) In reference to point 3, MB has a different charging location point on the car compared to Tesla so it’s not always seamless to pull up to a spot as the cable may not reach without moving the car to a different position.

I've now charged both before and after the official announcement at Tesla. It went great both times. Just as fast as EA for me. Although I rarely travel long distance these days, having the Supercharger network open to us virtually eliminates any range concern, and I wasn't concerned to begin with.
Picked up adapter a couple of days ago and first Tesla station charge this AM. After some fiddling with the Mercedes app, got the Tesla stations to show on app and in MBUX head unit. First charge this AM. Tesla station showed in MBUX nav and when I selected as destination, MBUX gave a "cannot navigate" message. Tried again and the Tesla station did not show. Since I knew where it was located, drove there anyway. BTW, station had 4 EA chargers and 8 Tesla chargers. At 7 AM, all EA chargers full with people waiting. At least all 4 were working which is unusal.
It took some maneuvering of vehicle to figure best position for short Tesla cable to reach EQB but got it on third try. After that, simple to attach adapter, start charge on phone and plug in. Toward the end of the charge, got an error message "lost communication" and in the app the specific charger showed available, but it was still continuing to charge vehicle. Pressed disconnect button on car and could remove charger and adapter, at which point charging did stop and I got text with the charges.
So I would say as seemless as anything with Mercedes and at least I've got a proof of concept that I feel secure taking the car on a longer drive. Unless, of course, it breaks down or goes into limp mode once again. Now that the Tesla chargers are available, makes me feel a little better about this otherwise nightmare of a vehicle.

Good to Hear the Charging is working, not so good that You see your specific Car as a Nightmare. I didn't get in my car what I really wanted , but at least everything is working with no Problems so far.
I received my Adapter from MBPARTSORCE.COM yesterday evening and i'm going to try my first charging at a Tesla Site this morning too. I will Report. I did not get the Update Service, and as far as I found out here and in other Forums that our 2023 EQB's are not affected by it. It is more for the Plug'n Charge Cars like EQE and EQS. I'm not sure if any EQB will get or has this feature.
I also can see the Tesla Stations in my Cars Navigation System but have to manually direct to it. But it shows the "start charging" option on the Screen. So I guess It is working, we'll see. I can see the Tesla Stations on the App when searching for Charging Stations an can navigate to it in the App and send the Route to the Car.
I will report more when I return.

Back from successful Charging session. 40%-80% 21Min max Charge 96Kw/h 59Kw/h at 80% 31.6 KW added. Car ended Session by itself at 80%, ramped down to) 0 KW/h.
I arrived at this 24 Stall Version 4 Superchargers with about 3 Teslas Charging. I went all the way to the end away from the Teslas to not bother them, until I realized while backing up that these version4 Dispensers are set different than the older ones before. No more blocking 2 Stalls, great! I made an error activating the Station Nr. (1C instead of 1D) but it worked anyway. Price is here $0.47 KW. Plugging the Adapter in and out worked also flawlessly. No stuck Nacs Plug in the Adapter.
After Charging, I was a bit confused, as the light on my Charger Port was still green after I pressed the release Button on my Vehicle. I unplugged the CCS1 adapter from my Car and then the Nacs with no Problems.
Interestingly, after disconnecting, I got a message from EA of my Charges. I thought I might get a different Notice from the Mercedes Me charge account (Chargepoint), what I have never used before. Didn't expect to have this connected through EA. Since the Mercedes Me Charge Card is not working on EA Stations.
Conclusion..It all works with the Adapter from MBpartsource.com for the EQB without the Dance around the Mercedes Dealers / Service.
I will not charge at to many Tesla Stations until my free Charging at EA is over (6 Month), but got the Adapter for the likely event that the NACS Plugs will be implemented at more EA or other Charging Networks in the Future. Something that should make Mercedes and all other EV Vehicle Brands give out for free to make their CCS1 Cars future proof.
