EQE SUV 4MATIC Pinnacle Trim 7-week Review

The good, the bad, and the unknown

Likes
1. Structure and design of seats with Artico covering is very comfortable - do not miss having Leather or Nappa
2. Smooth ride and handles rough road surfaces well
3. Prefer the non AMG trim (clean front aero scoops & no faux exhaust lower rear bumper, but the AMG wheels are OK)
4. Distronic and lane keeping assist are very effective as only lightly touched the steering wheel on a long highway drive and no foot pedal operation
5. One pedal driving with Strong Recuperation
6. The design/placement of the non Hyper screen is attractive
7. Single press of Talk button to activate Hey Mercedes, and long press to activate Siri
8. Head-Up Display helps keep your eyes on the road but is invisible with polarized glasses
9. No squeaks or rattles (so far)

Could Be Improved
10. Profile not automatically selected using facial recognition (would be nice for the smart key to have this functionality)
11. Recuperation setting not retained in user profile
12. Brake lights comes on when using strong recuperation and then turn off shortly before stopping, and come on again 15 sec later
13. Audio volume is not lowered for navi announcements when using a streaming on an iPhone
14. Speed cameras, red light cameras, and radar locations not shown on Navi
15. Traffic delays are not shown as effectively in Nave like Google Maps or Waze
16. Stability and reliability of software and advanced electrical systems (been in the shop for red and orange warnings)

Does not have these items referenced in the Operator's Manual
17. Power closing doors & convenience doors feature
18. Acoustic vehicle alerting system - sounds to warn pedestrians of vehicle operation

Being assessed
19. Digital LED Headlights cut through the dark, but have not done enough night driving to experience the advanced features
20. Automatic lane changes do not always seem necessary

To Be Researched
21. Remote Parking Assist

Do not have these features but not really missing them
22. Rear axle steering as very infrequently drive in tight or narrow roads
23. Ventilated seats as precondition cools interior
24. Massage seats as not enough long road trips
25. Air suspension (maybe I would appreciate them if they were installed)

I am sure I have missed something, but hope this review helps someone.

EQE SUV 350 4Matic and 2024 Tesla MX LR
Thanks for your post. I agree with almost every comment you made.

I bought my wife a pinnacle trim EQE 4Matic SUV in early June. Long story short she had shoulder replacement surgery so I drove it for the next 5 weeks. Now she drives it daily. She loves it! Just to add to your review her car has rear wheel steering and ventilated seats and we love them. It also has the air suspension and I'm not fond of it. I think the ride is too soft/floaty over road bumps.
We have not taken it on a road trip yet and I'm dreading a planned trip from Ohio to South Carolina in September. I'm dreading it because I don't trust the Electrify America/Charge Point/Shell Recharge infrastructure - especially through West Virginia.
I'll come back and write a trip report on our adventure.
Thanks again.

Rear wheel steering is more than just tight and narrow roads.
It helps in high speed lane changing and evasive maneuver. It's becoming a standard in high end high performance sports cars.

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
Thanks for review. I have a 500 4matic with air suspension on order due to arrive in France in Nov. have also got the rear steering and went fit the electric art trim as it is called here which I think is the same as the Pinnacle in the US. Do not like the front but prefer the back especially as I have a factory fitted tow bar too and think this is accommodated better than with the AMG trim.
I also did not want leather artico is much easier to live with and went for 19” inch wheels for comfort and range. They are good on the EQC I have.
As yet not seen one in real life let alone driven one but from my 2 yrs of EQC ownership and an extended test drive if the EQE saloon I am looking forward to getting it. No more ICE for me electric cars are just way way better.

Pinnacle is actually an options tier in the US - Premium, Exclusive, Pinnacle are the main tiers. Electric Art is the standard non-AMG appearance package in the US, I don't think it has a name, unless I'm mistaken about it.

Technically it’s also called Electric Art in the US but that’s not really mentioned or highlighted anywhere.

Lastone. as to #13 you need to raise the voice level of the navi, system. When in navigation and you hear an announcement, quickly adjust the regular volume up and it will adjust the Navi only. Or you can hit the talk button and while she is talking adjust the volume.
thanks for the review!

Thanks, but I know how to adjust the navi voice level. With a navi announcement the volume for radio and some other sources will be temporarily lowered. But the volume is not lowered if the source is an audio stream from an iPhone.
