2024 AMG EQE SUV Experience

Maserati's software is a full generation behind as is their charging speed but once you get behind the wheel and start driving all is forgiven. If only the front-end didn't look just like a Ford Puma.

Someone please hire Fisker to design their next EV... before he starts another company and goes bankrupt, again.

We were debating tires and range. Is saw that tire rack tested the Michelin PS4S and PS4 AS back to back. The all seasons have less range but neither is particularly good from a range perspective relative to say Pirelli or Goodyear.

They got 290 wh/mi out of the Summer PS4S and the 292 wh/mi out of the PS4 All Seasons.
The most efficient performing tire was the Hancook iOn which achieved 263 wh/mi on the same car.

I immediately removed low rolling resistance tires from both 2012 Honda CRZ Hybrid with rare 6-stick and 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid that wife currently drives in GA. If I lease AMG EQE SUV in future would get the stickiest summer tires for the best steering response that I need to avoid accidents in the ATL area. I was taught to drive defensively in 2011 when obtained my CDL and since my Wife moved to GA in 2012 avoided bad drivers on several occasions in my older 2005 CRV SE that I installed sticky Z-rated summer tires on.
As long as I can reach ATL airport from Athens area in AMG EQE SUV would ditch Eco low rolling resistance tires.
About a 7-weeks ago test drove Silverado EV $98K pickup. Reminds me of the old Avalanche pickup. It is quick 0-60 mph but feels like a Boat Anchor…maybe the $63K work truck variant might be better suited for the farmers and working class. Rather have AMG EQE SUV…lol
This morning spec out 2025 CTSV Blackwing with new Track Precision Package inherited from the Camaro SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE that includes track oriented Cup 2R tires. But at nearly the price I paid for my 2021 AMG Wagon will hold off for 3-years and lease the AMG EQE SUV with sticky tires. In meantime will continue to terrorize the streets in my 2015 Chevy SS manual pictured above with BMR suspension upgrades and Michelin Summer Tires when Temps climb above 45F in New Mexico

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Still following this thread…paid off ‘24 Maverick 2.0T AWD yesterday.

I thought I would post my 4 month experience with my vehicle. I came from a 2021 AMG E63s wagon so my comparisons between the two vehicles were interesting to me. The first surprise was that the SUV rode almost the same as my wagon even though it weighed 1000 lbs more. The AMG engineers clearly dialed in correct numbers! My second surprise was the range of the car. Initially the range at 80% indicated 175 miles, but now indicates 230. The EPA rating is 235 at 100% so this is a clear surprise. The car is extremely powerful with effortless acceleration. The brakes feel normal to me so Mercedes has clearly changed the pedal response. The car came with all add-ons turned on and I'm still learning what some of them do. There's still no online manual on the Me website. I had two minor issues that got rectified. The wrong puddle lights were installed at the factory and one piece of rear door trim became partially unglued. All has been corrected. I have about 3000 miles on the clock since the end of December. I'm still uncovering more of the customizations as I drive. I clearly do not miss going to the gas station at all.
PS - We get our 2024 AMG EQE SUV in two weeks to go along with our current EQS 580 SUV!

In our EQS 580 SUV our TRIP DATA per Mercedes Me indicates 3.0 mpkWh after 3,415 miles of driving. My "typical" kw/mile is between 275 and 400, averaging about 320.
1. Green steering wheel: hands on wheel, can sense lane markers so steering assist is active.
2. Grey wheel: lane markers not sensed (no markings, lane to wide, etc.) so steering assist is not active. You need to manually steer.
3. Red hands, grey wheel, rough/bumpy road so you need to pay attention to steering as steering assist is not active/sufficient (?). I was not entirely clear on all the possibilities, but basically it comes down to pay attention and steer the car when the red hands show up.
No hands detected is apparently the warning in the center of the dash; if you are not getting that, the car is sensing your hands on the wheel.
Corrections to the above welcome.

Yes I would love to know more about the suspension differences as well. I've been curious about the EQE AMG because it has the Active Ride Control suspension. I wish they gave the EQS something like that.
