Battery Health

Hello all,
is there a way to check the battery health of the EQE? Similar to the iphone? Just curious as i am getting very low numbers relative to my previous car.
granted, it has been very cold, and the car is only about 500 miles in, but thinking more long term being able to monitor the health of the battery.

No. Only the dealer can do it -- and I have yet to read about a case where they shared this information with a customer.
I think this could eventually be grounds for a class-action suit.
P.S. I assumed you were referring to the HV battery.

With temps around freezing, you can reasonably expect 30-40% lower range in your EQE SUV than what's published in the marketing material. And this doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your battery.

MB EQs do their best not to lie and to approximate range based on conditions and driving behaviors. Teslas will show you EPA range even if you're shredding tires at -20°F. So, it should definitely show a decreased range. I prefer the MB method.

I believe he means design capacity vs current maximum capacity. That info is stored in the BMS but Mercedes won't allow us to access it.

No offense intended, lol! Different methods, different results is all. I'm just remembering a post about a year ago of someone who was incensed that their predicted range was dropping, insisting that Teslas never lose range even in the coldest of winters. Which is, of course, not true. To their credit, Teslas will accurately predict SoC when navigating - as do the EQs more accurately when navigating. Still, it's good that they try to give you a likely outcome when not navigating.

Absolutely. I was also responding to @ScottC2 in the process. BMS also recalibrates this every time you do the 6-month "leave the car under 20% overnight and then charge it" process. Some here have mentioned that the car is bottom balancing in the process, though I'm not entirely sure. I can say that after the process happens, the car may give you an updated range prediction afterward, which I have seen to be the case in our SUV recently. So, while we won't get a state of health in any user-facing displays, the updated range prediction may (or may not) be a clue about what's happening there.

Indeed. I just recently did my 6-month overnight under 20% and after the "reset" the car, at rest, was predicting max published WLTP range for my vehicle of 532 km. But in less than a week of local driving after that, the range forecast has adjusted itself back down to reality for the winter season and once again is quite accurate.
