OTA Update Available - Not installed
I've received two OTA updates with notifications as of 8/29, which have been downloaded but not yet installed. I received a notification that the system is waiting for a technical issue to be resolved before applying the controller firmware (most likely due to the 12V battery). I've been driving the car for a couple of days since receiving the notification. The 12V State of Health status shows "Good," and the State of Charge indicates it is charged. What am I missing? TNX

Your 12V battery is bad, even if the app shows it's good. This happened to my mom's car, took it to dealer, and it tested bad. They replaced it under warranty. The car immediately prompted to install the update as soon as it was parked back at her home, and the update succeeded.

Early in 2025 we had our EQE SUV unplugged in storage at our house in Columbus Ohio. In a thread on this forum I commented that our 12V battery was giving me error messages that the battery was very low. Long story short after several trips to the dealer and back with multiple attempts to fix the issue - the dealership replaced the battery. On the positive side since we were still in South Carolina the dealership picked up the car at our house and returned it without charge.

Interesting. I have to take mine in for a coolant issue Saturday. I’ll bring up this potential battery issue. The last two updates have been a PITA being available sometimes only after a drive. I seen the 12v battery mentioned in the technical notes pop up but didn’t think it could be that since the car had only been in operation for 6 months.

I'm assuming they just had to top off the coolant, this seems to happen with all the X294s. A few extra mL in and it solves it. There must've been a filling issue at factory. If you want, you can get the coolant from MB parts. Open the hood, open both expansion tank caps, and pour a bit into the lower of the two tanks until the level indicator is touching the top of the fluid. (The indicator pokes up from the bottom of the tank). Had this happen on my dad's car and on my wife's. Sedan was filled properly from Germany, I suppose.

How many miles on the car? I noticed on both the X294s in our family, they each had the indication show up within a couple of months of each other. There were no leaks or malfunctions of any kind, and almost 20k miles later, the issue has not returned. Unless you're noticing drips on your garage floor, I suspect your car would behave the same way.

Sry folks, just wanna see if someone can direct me how to find out if there's an OTA update / what was updated recently etc? I cannot seemed to be able to locate such 'tabs' / 'info' from the Mercedes Me app.

Unfortunately, the service visit was unproductive. The technician updated all of the applicable controllers while he was waiting for a response from Germany, but that didn't change anything on the car. I now see a notice that the OTA is not applicable to my vehicle! However, I've now received a notice of another OTA that is ready to install for the AMG controllers but is waiting on "technical conditions" to be satisfied. I suspect that my previous service visit updated the controllers and that the OTA is not needed. Sigh!

Will continue reading these threads wife might replace her CRV Hybrid at GA residence with an EV. At 65 I bought my last ICE in my lifetime…

I have the OTA updates not installing problem as well; however, in my case the 12V battery has been tested and is good. Only the first OTA update installed correctly, ironically the one that had improvements to the OTA process. Since then, nothing has installed OTA, I have had to take the car to the dealership every time. Looking at the technician reports on the paperwork, even the dealer has trouble with the updates, In the last cases where two updates were outstanding, the tech had two failures for each before the updates took. Unfortunately, the Tesla plug and charge update was not available for my car (they seem to be doing a rolling update) so I will likely have to make another dealer trip when it shows up.
