Since the EQE can be ordered again...

...anybody wants to take a guess for how long?

My current Jeep-lease expires in September so the longer I can wait placing an order, the better.

I'd bet on foreseeable future and then the refresh or E-Class or GLE-Class with EQ technology. But it should be around.

Thanks!

That would make sense. I mean, it would be odd if they would open the order-banks again just to stop taking orders again 2 months later.😄

BTW, do you know how long it takes on average from order to delivery on the AMG EQE SUV? The usual 2 months (since it's assembled in the U.S.) or longer?

Can't tell you specifically on the AMG, but 2-3 months should be typical, especially if SUV from/to the states.

I think I should focus on ordering early May then. That should be early enough to arrive before my lease ends and hopefully, not too late before Mercedes shuts down custom ordering again.
Even if delivery only takes 2 months, I would only have to pay off 3 remaining lease payments.

They should do a lease pull forward (i.e.they pay off your remaining lease payments. A lot of German OEMs do that up to 6 months. Check with dealer.

Would be an option, too - especially when combined with great incentives.

EQ vehicles have a 3 month pull forward for remaining payments. I'm turning in my AMG EQX4 in Dec for a GLC 400.with EQ. The electronics are more advanced compared to the EQE and the HV battery is 800V. There's also new efficient motors with the rear motor having a two speed transmission. Greater range too.

I would strongly consider the GLC as well - IF the AMG version would already be out and and I wouldn't be looking at a brand new model/first MY. Also, the launch of the GLC would be a bit too late for me. I had some bad experience on with my current Jeep Wagoneer S and want to avoid a first MY for now. Since range and charging speed is not a deciding factor in my case, I'd rather play it safe this time and go with the established model over the latest tech. After all, even the "old" AMG EQX4 is still pretty advanced - especially when coming from Jeep.

However, I understand your choice as well. After all, you already have an EQE so something new is more exciting.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the lease pull-ahead would only work if I would be coming off a current lease with Mercedes FS (in other words, I would be leasing a Mercedes now) but not off a Jeep-lease with Chrysler Capital, right?

I have 5 months to go on my EQB lease but my dealer told me that MB is no longer doing the EV-EV 5 months pull-ahead-- only 3 months. Programs of course can change from month to month so will be interesting to see whether MB resumes the 5 months pull-ahead. The GLC EV will most likely not be available by lease maturation in July so actually thinking about going BMW with iX. Somewhat sour on MB after I lost lemon law case on the EQB but I doubt that BMW would have been any different.

Just as an FYI Porsche will do a 6 month lease pull forward even for other brands of vehicle. They offered me a 6 month lease pull forward on my EQE AMG SUV before it was totaled.

That's what I currently have on order to replace my lemon Jeep Wagoneer S. Once again, not the latest technology but probably one of the most reliable EVs out there right now.

initially test drove AMG EQE SUV because HBerman and Stealth_Pilot said it was a worthy EV replacement for my 2021 AMG E63s Wagon.
Didn’t pull the trigger because of Range, I commute from NM Residence to Athens GA plus drive up the Coast to daughter in Reston VA. If I lived solely in Athens 100% would embrace an EV.

Hopefully this new GLC with EQ tech will be much better than GLC ICE that I drove for nearly 3-months when my AMG was in the shop for nearly 3-months in 2022. My wife’s 2020 CRV Hybrid might need an upgrade in 2027-2028…she only drives to ATL and maybe Birmingham twice a year. So she does not need an AMG Variant so an EV GLC would work for her. The tech and displays would be wasted on her but would appreciate not ever fueling up with Gas. I play around with the Hybrid tech in the CRV Hybrid and in the 2012 hybrid CRZ EX manual that traded for the CRV and easily mastered the MBUX in ‘21 AMG Wagon but rather embrace performance and driving enjoyment over the latest tech which might distract me…I still own an iPhone 13 for what it’s worth at age 65. For old school performance still own a 2015 Chevy SS with manual and LS3 V8 plus a 2025 Toyota GR Corolla 6-stick. The 2012 Ducati Diavel is for Sale…
