EQE design faults

EQE design faults
Currently in a CLS450 and thinking of going electric; test drove the eqe500 and two items stood out as negatives: 1) the rear window view is cut in half by the design and I assume the intent of the designers but for the life of me I can't figure out why: maybe its just a matter of getting use to, but I found it very disturbing with the limited view; 2) when driving on a moderately sunny day, with the roof closed and cover in place, there was a large glare across top half of the digital displays... So I wonder did anyone from MB design actually sit in this car before they released it to the public? Does any one else have any experience on the above?

I have seen a few video reviews complaining about the rear view. How was the drive for you? I am in a CLS and I want to go electric as well but the EQE is not the most attractive offering out there but the performance isn’t bad. I like the AMG wheels and body kit which helps somewhat…

car drove "too" smooth--maybe need to get used to an electric; and even though i test drove the 500 while acceleration was quick- i didn't feel it like used to in a gas car; the rear view was small enough that may deter me from getting the car--along with a lot of sun glare on the electronic panels on the dash

I think the battery has to be fully charged to get max power so maybe it was low when you test drove it. Mine feels like a 500HP gas car with all that instantaneous torque. And the rear wheel steering that's standard on 500 makes it as maneuverable as a sub-compact. It's really quite fun to drive. As for the rear window, that's just for aerodynamics which is really important in an EV. If it were shaped like a G wagon you'd probably get less than 200 miles range. I agree on the center screen though. Would be nice if we could adjust the angle.

IMHO, the era of ICE vehicles is truly coming to an end.

Yeah, I think the extra weight is offset by the lower center of gravity. And the 633 lb-ft of torque in my 500 is available at 0 RPM compared to, say, a Z06 Corvette that only makes 460 lb-ft and you have to rev it up to 6,300 RPM to get it. My only real complaint is the same as most reviewers: the brake peddle moves on its own and feels mushy. But as others here have said, it's something you can get used to and I've adjusted my driving style to compensate. In fact, I've become rather fond of the paddle shifters. Never used them in my Genesis GV80 for actually shifting gears but I kind of like switching between regular and strong regeneration.
