EQE350 4MATIC
Apple Music + Spatial Audio

Leased an 2023 EQE350 4MATIC yesterday, and was excited about experiencing Spatial Audio with Apple Music, so set up the app. It is playing music, showing my library, etc, but not playing spatial audio. Does this require me to pay for the $25/month T-Mobile internet connection for the car, perhaps due to higher data usage? I can't seem to find any actual documentation for this anywhere, beyond a press release on Apple's site.

Thanks - it would be nice, you know, to actually document this somewhere. Where is the luxury in having to google to find this out?

To be clear, when logging into my account, it already says I already have Online Music available through the one year free trial of Mercedes-Benz Connect (in the US), nothing mentions the need to pay for an additional plan for Spatial Audio.

I've found the extra data plan is no longer needed. At least this is the case for my 2023 EQE 500 in the US.

Search Apple Music for the Spatial music playlist. It should show a Dolby Atmos icon when playing back in the car. To be honest though, it's kind of underwhelming.

No luck, unfortunately even with that playlist - it’s not badged as Dolby atmos, even with a paid data subscription.

Here's how it shows up for me. I have no data plan. My phone is connected through CarPlay but the hotspot is not active. What software version do you have?

Hmm, my car is missing the Dolly Atmos toggle mentioned in the other thread (I had looked there previously) - but it says I’m in the latest software version for my 2023 EQE. Does this version number look correct?

Looks like an old version. I got my car last June and it was delivered with E329. I'm currently on E330. Searching for your exact version, I find hits going all the way back to 2022.

I think you should bring the car to the dealer for an update. That version looks outdated.
