Steering wheel controls

I find the "touch pad" style steering wheel controls in the EQE to be pretty awful. How are they working for everyone else?

I'm a pretty tech-forward individual, and even I hated them so much at first. However, I'm pretty used to it now and am relatively indifferent about whether or not we get some of those controls back as physical buttons or not. The one control I never get right though is the volume control. I prefer a wheel soooo much to the touchpad. The other controls are fine otherwise. I think there is a push to get back to buttons. As you may know, MB was often criticized for too many buttons. But maybe they'll strike a good balance soon.

There is a hidden menu in MBUX, I forgot what was the sequence to get in but there is something call comfortvolume or something along those lines, hopefully that makes it easier to fine tune the volume.

I wouldn’t say as awful, but I have had Phantom touches to the left side touch pad of the steering wheel when making my left and right turns. Something that does bother me is the inaccuracy in shown range, but that’s a whole other topic.

Forgot but can the sensitivity be adjusted or accuracy be calibrated?

I have been playing around with the system to see if I can find any modification windows or adjustment windows for the steering wheel. I have not been able to find any. This is one of those situations where it is what it is. Not sure if a software update can change this.

I looked up the manual and no mention of allowing this to be changed, oh well.

I'm with Bytemaster on this one. I found the controls on the wheel super annoying at first, but over 1 1/2 years I've become pretty used to them. And I also agree that some sort of physical rotating knob or wheel would be better for Volume, at least!
