Remote control of windows

The windows of the car, not the one from Microsoft.

From the app I can lock the car, but it doesn't close the windows! Fortunately it was sitting in a secure location and my wife had just left the windows open.

In any case, that's either a really stupid piece of software, or I don't have the right s/w, user error, or some setting?

Can anyone else remotely close the windows?

No, risk of injury, so it's not permitted. However, if the rain sensor picks up that it's raining, it should auto close the windows.

I don't see that. There is a risk of injury when in the car as well and I assume they have pressure sensors. Most trunks also have that. And they will close all the windows with the fob.

Further, there is a menu item in the app in the Remote Controls group that says Windows.

If it's a never gonna happen item, why would they put it in the app?

I believe those are just status icons, that show you whether they are open or closed. They've shown me that before. I think the risk, even with pressure sensors, is still high, so they don't let you do it while you don't have an eye on your car. Closing them with the fob or door handle lock spot only works when you have full view of the car - it must be line-of-sight. I'm pretty sure the only way the windows close is if the rain sensor is tripped. I suppose there's a way to find out, just pour water on the sensor. I'll have to try it!

Mercedes is probably scared of lawsuits in the US. They allow the function in other regions:

Yeah, I was wondering if it was market-specific.

NJ is a different market than CA?

Do you know if you, or MB did anything to enable that? Was it always enabled?

Yes makes sense, USA has it disabled.
