My local dealership said they would sell me one at MSRP but I doubt they would actually take orders from people out of the area at MSRP. This is the same dealer that was asking $50,000 over MSRP for the EQS 580. They ended up selling it for $15,000 over MSRP to an out of area buyer. The SA called me first to ask if I would pay $15,000 over MSRP, I said never. 😂

Best approach might be to share what state you live in and then someone can DM a dealer they know. Public dissemination may ultimately hurt the cause, and disincline people from sharing

Bay Area
I called several dealers in Bay Area and everyone said NO at MSRP. Found a dealer in NorCal outside bay area who said will do it. Hope they honor it.

I'm very disappointed with the dealer's markup. If these markups are used by the manufacturer to improve the quality and grade of the whole car, it will be a different experience, but being pocketed by the dealer does not improve any service quality, I swear, If the dealer is going to increase the price on the EQS SUV this time, I will give up and replace my current GLS580 with a Ranger Rover.

I will never pay over MSRP for a vehicle. Those that do will regret it when it comes time to trade their vehicle. So the first question to my MB SA was will you accept a MSRP deal for an EQS 580 SUV? Had he said no, I would have called the next closest dealership until I found a dealer who said yes. Simple.

dealers trying to charge over are playing with fire. used and new will roll over at some point, and in those times you want folks like us buying cars.
when that happens, they won't be able to get me on the phone.
some dealers don't know the expression to be "long term greedy"

I'm sure they are aware of the risks of charging markups, it could be their greediness or about survival.

Agreed, Bay Area dealers aren't asking for any markups for IX. Local Benz dealer with whom I bought my previous cars and servicing with them for the past 10+ years wanted 25K+ over MSRP. MB failed miserably in enforcing the MSRP. Not a single dealer in Bay Area/NorCal was willing to do sale at MSRP. I started getting calls from local dealers for EQS 450 sedan at MSRP (only for EQS 450 Sedan).

Are any norcal dealers taking orders? I know the order banks opened but the dealers I talked to don't know allocation numbers yet. I'm willing to do slightly over MSRP if it's a local dealer and they make it easy for me. I'm in the Napa/Sonoma area and the Santa Rosa dealer won't take an order from me until they know how many they have allocated.

DO NOT pay that much over. Make more calls. Pay MSRP. Used car market rolling over in meaningful way (retail sales down 13% MoM, the Manheim Used Car Index just recorded its largest 90-day decline in history: 6.6% since January
It's not apples to apples but good data point on top of everything else that's been said.

GLS 580
Went to the local Mercedes-Benz dealer today and saw that the EQS 580 sedan will over MSRP $75K, the total price is far more than $200K, just add some simple options and it will be close to $250K, the dealer told me that the EQS SUV is almost the same To add $75K~$100K based on MSRP. After coming out of the dealership, I did not hesitate to go to the Land Rover dealer to pay a deposit for a 2023 Range Rover, and plan to replace my GLS580, and completely Forgo buying an EQS SUV. Say goodbye to Mercedes-Benz, even though I have been a Mercedes-Benz owner for 15 years.
