Long time viewer, first time poster. Does MB or anyone else sell a tow hitch that you can put on an EQS suv in America? Uhaul says they will build one and install it for free if you leave the car at their corporate office for 4-5 days. My dealer says they are skeptical it can be done. I know that 2 row EQS 580's can be shipped from the factory with a hitch, however maybe putting one in after the EQS leaves the factory will require some major remodeling. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Reports so far are that a tow hitch can only be installed on the three row seat SUV’S. Or do I have it backwards? 😊

It is the other way around, if you get 3rd row you lose the tow hitch option.

Ok. Found one. It's pricey and there is no mention of a wiring harness. What do you guys think?

That's an interesting tow hitch. I looked over the available 50mm trailer couplers and decided they would not have worked with my small cargo trailer. It would be nice to get access to the installation manual for the hitch to determine what is required to make the electrical connections.

Is your vehicle a EQS 450 SUV or 580 SUV? Reason I am asking is I am helping a friend possibly buy a EQS580 SUV but only if the Torklift will fit the 580. I talked to Torklift and they said yes but then my friend emailed them and they said it was so far only specd out for the 450 and they are not sure if it will fit similarly on the 580 SUV. Many thanks in advance for your reply.

I have a 580 now. I had a similar conversation with them… they told me it was designed on a 450 4Matic, and they can’t say if it will fit on a 580.
I decided to just order it anyway, as I’m pretty sure the back clip of these cars are all identical. I’ll find out!

i also have 3 rows FYI.

Monday I’ll schedule an appointment for installation.

My understanding is that Mercedes refused to put a hitch on the 3rd row seat model because it was deemed to be going over the weight rating for the vehicle given the weight of the 3rd seats, plus potential passengers in those seats, plus the weight of the hitch and its cargo.

I once had a 580 SUV without the 3rd row seats on order. It was spec'd for the OEM factory installed hitch, but was told it was not an option on the 3rd row for the weight reasons.

Side note: ha that 450 4matic was mine! They used my car as the mule for designing their hitch. Since I live locally it was easy thing to do.

Hi! Did you end up installing it, and if so did everything work well? I’m in the same boat with a 580 SUV. There doesn’t seem be any available from Mercedes.
