Any USA EQS SUV manuf. 2023/02 or earlier with 2.6.1?

Does anyone have a 2023 EQS SUV in the USA Market that was manufactured on or before February 2023 that has received the 2.6.1 OTA update?

If so, could you PM me a picture of your software version from your MBUX screen? I know this is a lot to ask, but it would need to include the VIN.

This is my car. I'm guessing that EQS SUV's with 2.6.1 will show E505 where mine shows E330.

I know this is not exactly the answer you are looking for, but my EQE SUV (Hyperscreen) was built in May 2023 and it came with E330.
As of last week's service at the dealer, I am now on RL_NTG7_E505.404_24441AC3
So my car is almost as old as yours...and it is now running a very recent version of MBUX.

Thanks, @ScottC2. I'm trying to get some solid proof that my car is "entitled" to the 2.6.x OTA update before I drive to a nearby city for service on Thursday. My local dealer told me last week that if the OTA update wasn't showing up, then my car wasn't entitled to it. Despite what it says here:

ours was manufactured in Dec 2023 and is still running the 330 version. Last month I received an OTA for “software update” but it never installed over the air. I took it in to the dealership and they claimed they manually updated it but the software still reads 330 so looks like they lied to me or something weird is going on with the update.

Strange tho, the OTA notice in my MB app now says the software update is no longer valid.

I agree, Povitica3. If they updated it, it would certainly be higher than E330. You should go back to the dealer and point to what you are seeing in the MBUX Info screen for version and ask them why you do not see here that it was updated.

My car shipped with 303 or thereabouts. When I had it updated to 404, I asked for the Xentry information, and that upgrade updated about 185 modules. This is not one that could be done over the air at the time. My understanding is I am now on 2.6.0. (It took a bit of an effort to get the dealer to update, they did not want to do it unless they had some excuse to make it a warranty repair billed to MB).

Since then I have received one OTA update that installed easily and two that did not install, one of which was the 2.6.1 update apparently. I asked the dealership to update these while it was in for the A service, and it seems that they did at least one update, but I do not see the features that are associated with 2.6.1, so it is not clear to me if those were done. The car does not show any updates to be installed, but the app does, including the one the dealer apparently did. (I have a Xentry log showing some modules updated from the service.)

Unfortunately, Mercedes has a lot to learn about software and software update management.

It depends on the update. Anything that’s not a “2.x.x” kind of update (like the wireless charging update) does not increment the Exxx number, but rather, increments the number(s) after the first decimal place.

Also, just in case someone is wondering, it appears that if the dealer does the update, you will not see that update appear in the smartphone app list of OTA updates that have been installed. I guess it’s because the update wasn’t installed over the air?

Unfortunately, the two dealers closest to me don’t know diddly about EV’s, and Mercedes corporate thinks a two year old OTA update is “somewhat recent”.

What’s the entire software version number you see via the car (not via the app) starting with the E###?

My SĄ told me the other day that MB will only update the MBUX for an observed problem when I asked for the 2.6.1 update. Curious philosophy if true. I’ll get a second opinion.

Evidently, "I'm having problems with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto" are the magic words to use with the SA. I'm going to try that, soon, and double up by setting up my Apple and Samsung phones in the car.

That is what I was told from 2 separate dealers where I have my car serviced. Apparently their approach is if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I responded with aren’t the purpose of an update is to improve on something or add new features? I get updates on my phone every day, I don’t have to complain something’s not working right. That’s the job of Mercedes, to determine something isn’t running correctly so they issue a fix. But both dealers stated they need a specific reason to update.
BTW, my 2023 EQS has been updated twice since I bought the car. Unfortunately my car has been in the shop for over 2 weeks because of a “communication failure” of the hi volt battery to the 12 v battery has left my car dead as a door nail. It’s awaiting help from German engineers now.

Updates at the dealer take a long time, tie up a service bay, and required a technician open the hood, put on a battery conditioner and connect the car to Xentry for a few hours. They cannot bill you for it, so they are not going to do it unless they have an excuse to bill Mercedes for it. They can use that tech, the service bay, and Xentry system to make money if your car is not there. Dealerships hate the in-shop updates and will do everything they can to avoid them.

By the way, Mercedes charges dealerships every time they do anything with Xentry - that is part of why the diagnostic fees are so high.

I can confirm that this is absolutely the case.
