I agree with @mercedesmax , Mercedes is notoriously slow shipping new models to the US. The new S Class is yet another example. I'll be surprised if we see the EQS at a near by dealership before the end of the year.

Nice build. I compared your standard equipment to my preorder placed a month ago. I have a very similar build except for color. It does reflect the changes Mercedes has made since I put in my order. One thing I couldn't tell on your order, what upholstery did you get? Also, I've tried to look up info on the integrated toll payment system but found virtually nothing. How does it work? I currently have Sunpass and EZPass transponders. I use the EZPass up north and Sunpass in Florida. There are a few roads in Florida that accept both Sunpass and EZPass. How does that work with the integrated system? Can you have the 2 systems active at one time?

I love it too! especially since its very similar to mine, lol! Other than I added Executive Rear Seat package and I went with beige interior.
I had heard pricing was coming out around mid-August.

Just updated the original post to share the upholstery (Black/Sable Brown Nappa Leather).

I'm guessing the toll payment system will work through https://www.itmsignup.com (only Audi seems to be supported right now).

Thanks. Went to their site. I agree it will be thru ITM. I see how it works now. I’m going to add that option.

ITM will operate on all transponder based systems in US and Canada. Will allow you to replace the multiple transponders with one invisible device (embedded near mirror mount). Technology is from GENTEX same folks who make the garage door openers.

Sounds like a no brainer, although I’d like to see price first. I suspect it will be standard equipment in a few years like the garage door openers are now.

FYI: I contacted ITM and stated my EZPass transponder issued in RI gives me a discount of $3.17 each time I use it to go across a local bridge (83 cents vs $4). I go back and forth across the bridge several times a week, resulting in substantial savings over the course of a year. With the integrated toll system you will not get the discount. I didn’t ask about SunPass discounts because to my knowledge only Florida issues them, not like EZPass which multiple states have their own transponders. Just something to think about.

Hey, has anyone asked their dealer about special order colors for the EQS? I'm not sure how I feel about the interior options on the EQS, but I really like the Sienna Brown/Black Nappa leather combination available on the 2021 S class. I also prefer the Brown Burl Walnut wood trim over the EQS options.

The MANUFAKUTR program is not available yet for the EQS. Maybe next model year.

I have washed my S63, went to the store and then returned to find a thin layer of brake dust on the front wheels. But the brakes on my Tesla Model S has rust. Most of the time I use the regenerative braking to slow the car, only applying the brakes at the last minute. I don't think brake dust will be as much of an issue on the EQS. Also I have to be careful when switching cars, I sometimes forget to brake if I'm in the S63. I will lift my foot off the gas expecting the car to slow down, at that point it actually feels like the car is accelerating because I'm expecting it to slow. You will quickly get accustom to one pedal driving.

A dealer made me a pretty good offer today on my 2016 S63 AMG. I'm going to put in my EQS request when I go in to drop off the car on Monday. I'm also interested in the Pinnacle Trim, still debating. Did your dealer explain the difference between the Executive Rear Seat Package (PAS) and the Executive Rear Set Plus (DB6) ? I see that one includes the other, but there is no description on the included one, it just says that the Pinnacle Trim requires one or the other. Also do you know what is Energizing comfort (PBS) and how is it different from Energizing Air Control Plus (P53). I would like to understand these and make my selections before I sit down with the dealer on Monday.

The dealer stated that they will be putting in the chargers and sending staff to training next month. He also expects to get a vehicle in for test drives within the next couple of months.

Also, I had summer tires on an Audi S8 and after just one year (less than 12K miles) had to get new tires. I didn't have any major issues with traction during the winter months, but the summer tires wore extremely quickly. The Audi dealer suggested that I swap out the tires every year, switch from summer to winter and then back, but since frequently taking the tires off/on the rims would cause an issue with the seal, they wanted me to just buy an additional set of rims for the winter tires. I decided that if I had to purchase a new set of wheels anyway, that I would just buy a size that would fit all season tires and be done with it. After that experience, I will never order a vehicle with summer tires. May not be an issue for yall southerners.

Well, I was born in Mobile, about as far south as you can get in Alabama without getting your feet wet.

My degree plan for Horticulture (Texas A&M ‘76) included working one Summer in “Theodore” just South of Mobile at Flowerwood Nursery. A huge learning experience in the 1970’s for a Texas boy. First time I had ever been anywhere with no middle class. Everyone I met was either filthy rich or dirt poor! 😊

  • Update: As you are aware, MBUSA is experiencing challenges with the availability of semiconductor components due to the worldwide shortage. This has caused the addition and/or removal of certain options on vehicles. A summary of the changes is below:
    • Active Ambient Lighting (878) has been replaced by 64-Color Ambient Lighting (894) as standard equipment on the EQS. 64-Color Ambient Lighting looks identical to Active Ambient Lighting, and still contains 10 Color Worlds and Seat Contour Ambient Lighting.
  • Automatic Comfort Doors removed from Exclusive and Pinnacle Trim details until details on availability are confirmed by HQ
  • Updated Standard Equipment section to include:
    • Complementary Maintenance for 2 Years / 20k Miles
    • 2 years of Complementary 30-Minute DC Fast Charging Sessions on the Electrify America Network (https://www.electrifyamerica.com/locate-charger/ to find an Electrify America charger near you)

Susman - do you know if the 22" wheel will be available at launch on the 580?

Also does anyone know when pricing and allocations will be released?
