While I may not be the typical Tesla owner, MB’s strategy, product (EQS) and pricing all got me to defect from BMW and Tesla! I’ve owned 13 BMWs but left them for Tesla because they didn’t believe or understood EVs and now leaving Tesla because they don’t understand luxury or over engineered safety ! At $126K for Pinnacle 580, MBUSA will make a dent in its rivals!

I'm sure this is great news for many on here as I know some were worried when converting EU figures. The pricing seems very good, likely will undercut the equivalent S-Class model before the tax credit is even applied. Trim wise the Exclusive trim looks to be the most reasonable and will likely be the most optioned as the Pinnacle only adds some rear seat amenities. This gives me some hope for EQE pricing to be in line with the E-Class. Now if only they would allow for an AWD 450 (and 350 for the E) variant as the RWD only models will be DOA for many different regions.

I'm very pleasantly surprised at the pricing. On the write-up it does not say anything about the hyperscreen not be available for the EQS580. Could this have changed in the past few weeks so that it is now available for all those ordering the EQS580? In any case, I'm super excited!

The hyperscreen has always been standard on the EQS580, however because of this, expect the majority of EQS' produced to be 450+'s with 580 allocations being much more difficult. A few weeks back, dealers had got the message that the number of 580's produced will likely be around 20% of all EQS production due to the shortage in parts/chip availability.

Yes, I realize that it's standard on the EQS580. However, several weeks ago when the general manager was confirming my order (it showed up on the portal) for the 580, it would now allow the hyperscreen. I was the first to order the 580 at my dealership several months ago. So, I don't understand how this could be.

Anyone aware of any available EQS 580 available for 2021 delivery in US? Talking to dealers, handful of 450s but no 580s that I have found. One dealer had a 580 but asking for deposit and 30k above msrp prior to pricing release today.

No! I ordered my 580 in April with a Jan 2022 build date meaning i may see it around April 2022.
The pricing is killer! I was totally off thinking around $175,000. This will make it go toe to toe with the Tesla.

Part of the problem is not knowing when the cars CAN be released for sale as the federal government has a say in that.
There are demo cars that are being built this month and in theory would be available before the end of the year.
Expect to pay a premium.

EQS 580 production runs for February. If everything goes well, customers should see deliveries end of March. From what i hear around, especially with dealers in CA, they already have more demand than orders for EQS 580 4Matic and EQS 450 two wheel drive. They are willing to give up every S580 for EQS . $30k ADM seems stupid and let tell you what is going to happen. Mercedes will open their own online store for ordering so customer will take delivery from dealers but the order will be direct from MBUSA with zero ADM.

I don't see any mention of the 883 soft close doors as a stand-alone option. The DOG only refers to 883 soft close doors as part of the (Delayed) DH0 Automatic Comfort Doors Package. Does anyone who has a standing order know if soft close doors can be ordered separately?
