Thumbs up Thank You All Members of EQS

I been seating on the side lines for a while and absorbing everything you'll have posted. It's been learning and fruit full experience. I finally got my EQS 450 yesterday and took it for a drive from San Antonio to McAllen Texas and I was able to navigate with no issue, all because of you'll. I respect every body's opinion and technical feedback. "The Best or Noting"

By the way never hug your EQS in front of the wife and call your car babe. I slept in the sofa that night.

Thanks

Congrats on your car. Since I live in San Antonio, and visit South Texas some, I would be very interested in hearing about your drive to McAllen. Did you charge, or make it without charging? Where did you charge? Are there adequate public chargers near there, or near South Padre Island? Please, fill me in!

It was a very pleasant drive from San Antonio to Laredo. I tested the cruise control "Auto Pilot" and I didn't used the brakes at all during the trip. Car turned by itself once I used the signal and returned back to the right lane, kept a safe distance and smoothly slow down when it needed. The car kept it's speed limit according to navigation system. Slowed down to speed limit warnings, where posted and returned back 75 mph. But you must keep your hand at all times in the steering wheel. If not, the EQS will turn the emergency flashers on and slow down until it comes to a complete stop. Ok, to the good stuff, Laredo has three chargers, one on the Mercedes Dealership (ChargePoint) 6kwt per hour, like a home charger, but don't worry, next month they will be connecting the fast charge at 22kwt per hour which it should take you 4 hours 0 to fully charge. I left the car overnight. Second, Nissan Dealer in Laredo has another L2 charger 6kwt, not friendly people. The third is the Embassy Suites right off I35 behind Mall Del Norte Tesla Super Chargers cannot use adapter. The last charger is on the way to Laredo a little Island called Fuel America 5 miles after south of Encinal, in Fuel America they have a Sonic in the building they have a fast charger J1772 compliant. Warning! The Fuel America chargers are over price and charge you for parking fee in 15min increments. I didn't used them for that reason, emergency use only. If your plan is to take the trip all the way to McAllen, I recommend you charge up in Fuel America. I drove from Laredo to San Juan Mission Church and back with one full charge and had 60 miles left on battery. My EQS gave me 425+ miles with a full charge. In McAllen the MB Dealer has a charger L2 but they told me by next month they should have the L3 charger. All MB have their own price on L2 charger it's not free. All L3 chargers installed at MB Dealers are set for 22kwt per hour. Mercedes doesn't recommend fast chargers at 100kwts, 30 min chargers are to be use for traveling only. Theirs a post on that. What charger are you using at home? I use ChargePoint with CPS but can get them to put me in the Flex Plan a 250 rebate and additional 5 dollars a month.

Wow! 425+ miles is very impressive. I'm sure you were driving in warm temperatures for the entire trip.

Temp was low 90’s deg but I had the ac at 73 deg and it was nice and cool. I only charge at no more than 11kwt per hour at home the slower the charger the better.

think about like this, I have the Ego lawn mower with 7.5 battery at fast charge it will last me I hour if I use the slow charge I have an additional 15 min.

I usually set the AC at 76-78 in summer since my S450 has very strong AC. I hate cold and I get sick easily if it’s too cold. With at in mind I should get 500 miles in the spring through fall. 🤩

Thanks for the info. I have a ChargePoint Home Flex at home. Charge at 7.7kW usually....about every 4th or 5th day, to 80%. Have only used my car in this area, no road trips yet. But, I'm planning them. Love to blast down to Corpus Christi for a seafood lunch and back. Think my car would make it easy on a single 100% charge, especially now that temps are increasing. Your data certainly reinforces that. Anyway, hope you enjoy your car.

500 might be optimistic. I'm thinking 425-430 tops.....but I hope you are right and I am wrong. Will be a lot of fun to find out as the weather continues to warm.

I was just joking. I was hoping the emoji face would make that clear. Thanks again for your valuable information.

Sorry I don’t see the emoji. I have a trip on April to Houston Medical Center. We usually stay for 4 days and on Wednesday we take a trip to Kemah and Galveston to eat out of this world seafood. Will post all free charging stations. My JW Marriott has complementary charging stations in parking area. But, Marriotts chain/affiliates have j1779 L2 chargers for free charging and special parking (close to entrance)

If you haven't found them yet, we have found that Electrify America charging stations are often in Walmart Supercenter parking lots. By going a few miles out of your way a 30 minute charge will get you a long way.

In San Antonio we only have one, yes most of them are in Wal-Mart's. I need to create a post regarding the confusion between MB me connect and MB dealers telling or activating a ChargePoint accounts without letting you know about privacy and their not part MB network. ChargePoint are independent and sell chargers to all people. People control the price of the use of ChargePoint. Just got a letter with a case I open with MB regarding privacy. Where it says that MB dealers are not to set ChargePoint account without customers consent and made aware of the privacy concerns. If you go to MB me connect>Menu>EQS Garage(EQS picture)>manage service>Charging>Mercedes me charge>Mercedes me charging contract> You will be directed to MB/ChargePoint corporate account where your EQS analytical data gets collected. If the MB dealer gave you a me connect card to charge in Electrefy America then is also connected to ChargePoint. I will post the facts in a new thread.
