Ambient Lighting Package Issues on EQS (need input)
We have an EQS 450+ that we acquired in January of 2022. It has the active ambient lighting package. Sometimes when we get out of the car the ambient lights turn off with the interior light delay. Others the interior lights go out but the ambient lighting stays on unless I lock the car or go into the menu and turn the ambient lighting off.
We also have a 2022 GLS with the same package and those lights turn off every time with the interior lights.
On the EQS I have had the car back to the dealer twice and they say no problem noted. It could take 30-45 minutes for the ambient lights to shut off but it won't cause any 12V battery issues (yeah right). If that was the case it should behave the same way every time. I then got an answer that it stays on longer depending on the 12V state of charge. Huh?
What happens to others when you exit your car with the ambient lighting package? Do the ambient lights indeed stay on if you don't lock your EQS (say in your garage etc.)

I don't know. But on my E-Class we had some issues with ambient lighting. Dealer kept trying to fix it with software updates. Took it to another dealer. Turned out the harness was faulty and needed replacement.
So my point is could be a hardware issue.

I’ve had my 580 for couple of weeks or so and have noticed the same thing. My ambient lighting does not turn off until I lock doors. So I’ve started getting in habit of locking it in my garage as well. Honestly, I’ve waited five min then I give up and lock the doors. Not sure if after an extended period of time it would shut off by itself.

Same here....
Just took ownership of my 450+ today and noticed the ambient lights stayed on unusually long and then got a notification the car was unlocked from Mercedes Me, locked the doors in the garage and voila the ambients are off. Seems kinda weird but working as intended I guess

Im I crazy or is there a setting for the time the lights turn off? Either way, I havent had an issue with it. They turn off immediately if I lock it , when left unlocked, they stay on for a little while.

Mine behaves in the same fashion. They turn off immediately if locked and remain on for under 20-30 min if I leave the vehicle unlocked. Haven’t had an issue either way so far so seems to be “normal” for these vehicles.

MB may have been anticipating someone sitting in the car while the other person goes into a store, etc., and didn't want to leave them in the dark. Thus, a moderate time delay (20 minutes?). My radio in my current car will play for about 5 minutes after ignition off for, I think, a similar reason.

Check the level of your primary software upgrades. So far as has been reported at the front end of the code is .329.
Strangely enough, check your tire pressures. Low tires and notifications have thrown off messages such as yours.

I was under the impression that the car reboots itself every time you turn it on. Many have had minor glitches with their software only to have it corrected itself the next time the EQS is started. If this persists it’s time to take it to a dealership and have them take a look.

Well just an update. Went to the dealer with the above error message. Requested they update my Software which they refused to do! The service tech found that my L passenger door wiring harness wasn't connected, which is odd because it worked for 5 months since delivery. Anyway, it works now after being reconnected. Still waiting for the recent update. Has anyone received it OTA?

Equipped with a regenerative system, I would not worry about such drain.
The 580 series is still new to even the dealers. I'm afraid of them screwing up something else with their magic wand. On my 2022 S 580 my rear door lock would jam intermittently. Software update 'fixed' it but now all door handles take considerably more energy to open. [Door handles are the self-withdrawing type w/soft close feature for door wherein door gets 'sucked' in without having to bang it in].
