Question Where will new charging stations go?

Will there be an influx of new 'parking/charging lots' across our country to support all the EV's that our government wants us to buy?
Should we start clearing land for parking lots? Can we find a way to make things into more of a concrete jungle in our cities/towns and country sides??

How about converting cemeteries/graveyards-which are already a waste of space-into paved charging lots?? Just relocate the head stones to
the families and call it a day!
Or maybe building new parking decks exclusively for charging? Could be a great source to invest in for the vultures!

Convert part of existing gas stations. Same place, same services.

Not going to happen. BEV'S will put the final nail on that. Fuel cell vehicles are like fusion always 2 decades away.

Hyundai just unveiled a bonkers new hydrogen fuel cell BEV hybrid concept. You can charge it like a BEV, or fill it up with Hydrogen and the onboard fuel cell will charge the battery. There will be plenty of ideas coming before the last word is spoken. Pure BEVs are likely not for the long term.

My understanding of using hydrogen is that the electrolysis process to break water into the hydrogen component is extremely expensive.

essentially no hydrgen is made by electrolysis. Most is produced by derivation from natural gas. The issue is storage distribution and so on. Not to nention that every hydrogen vehicle you see is a 50% loss for the manufacturer. The only reason they exist is to get clean energy credits for the manufacturers. If you think lithium batteries are expensive, they are 4 times cheaper than fuel cells. Despite 20 years plus of development they are still a science experiment. It hard to get around the physics of how little electricity is produced by a fuel cell. Its super efficient but very low energy density.Think of a nuclear battery (thermo electric) and you get the picture, although in that system efficiency is low but the power source (radiation from plutonium) is extremely longed lived.
BTW if you wonder how difficult hydrogen is to handle all you have to see is the trouble NASA is having with hydogen leaks the last few weeks. The smallest element is squirrelly.

Love the first edition Honda Accord behind Michael J in this pic! Truly the best car of the era (manual trans). The automatic however was horrible (they fixed it later).

Wonder when Honda became so popular.....can't recall. Good eyes though, that car is barely visible!

One of my HS friends had one! Got to ride in it a lot! The honda stickshifts of that era (and still) were like a swiss watch. Smooth, fast perfectly calibrated, and of light action. They made porsche's of the era seem crude. Porsches clutches of the era were so stiff that after a few weeks of use your left leg was twice as strong as your right one
with the 944 Porsche fixed that too!

If you'd like to hit the 'report' tab and get the comments that regard Honda removed I'm sure you could make that happen. Or possibly get the thread closed

Green hydrogen is made from using wind turbines/windmills. No natural gas involved. Ignore the people who think it's ONLY made from natural gas

Go look at where Tesla Superchargers are located. I wrote Superchargers NOT destination charging. Copy what Tesla did. I've owned two Tesla S Models and have used them for travel.

No one said its only made from natural gas. Only 90%. ... To make green hydrogen in the amounts necessary, you woul need to cover all of nevada and arizona with solar panels. Its simple physics. Or 4 nuclear plants.. Im all for being green but I can also add. Math... Cant cheat that. Unless you can build a pipeline to bring it directly from the sun or Jupiter hydrogen is simply not a viable fuel. Hydrogen is an unnecessary and energy intensive step to get electricty to a motor. Lithium is one of the most abundant elements in the earth's crust. The entire Black hills are made of manganese!
Math my friend Math.

Hopefully, possibly as early as December, the Tesla Superchargers and others will open up for useage by all EV's. You will, of course, need a Teslatap and an account, because you can bet that it will not be free.
