Taking delivery soon. Need to do anything to prepare?
I will be picking up my 580 on Saturday. Is there any checklist you have that I should go through to avoid some of the issues people have experienced with settings or charging etc? Thanks in advance.
1) Check the window sticker to make sure it has all the correct options you ordered. Not much recourse if they don't given the wait time.
2) Inspect the car for any physical damage or issues (panel alignment etc.) since it's best to point these out before you take delivery.
3) Ask them to help you set up the Mercedes Me service so it is functioning before you leave, including the EV charging account
Everything else I wouldn't worry about because if some feature is not working properly, you can always fix it under warranty.
Usually they will as part of the delivery process walk you through MBUX, pair your phone, and help you configure the main settings the way you want.

You can check the MBUX software from the screen itself. Mercedes Me would not give it. Have a look at other threads here that show some latest SW releases (I don't know which one is the absolute latest one). Only a diagnostics tool could read the SW version of all other control units in the car.

When did your car get released and did you take delivery yet
Arrived to vpc on 3rd and at the dealer on 21st. I will pick it up Saturday. Had PPF and stuff done. That work will finish tomorrow evening. I haven’t even seen it yet. Few pictures is all.
I drove it around all weekend and absolutely love the car. Yesterday took it to EA charger and it went perfectly.
Including the Pictures of finished look with Stealth PPF and Tint etc.
BTW how many headrest pillows did come with the car? I only got 2 in the back but nothing in the front. Most Youtube reviews show them in the front also. I did get 2 back pillows for the back seat which I was not expecting.

Yes over Obsidian. I was planning to cover the wheels black and Bright Blue Calipers but ran out of time.
If you paint the calipers, I would recommend the color that Mercedes uses for their AMG Carbon Ceramic Brakes. That color looks best on black cars. Blue to me cheapens the look - reminds me of a BMW 3 series with M Performance brakes.

I was going Blue because of the Electric thing. Not doing it now. You really can't see the calipers with my wheels anyway.
Please be easy on me since this is a controversial subject. Please explain to me why some of you do away with the original look of the EQS by painting every shiny ((chrome) part black. In my opinion, that looks ugly. I know. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I just don’t get it.

Because it looks 100X better this way. While you may disagree, it is a generational thing. This is why most OEMs offer the option of a "Night package" or "Black trim" package.
The EQS lacks the bespoke finishing options of the S-Class - which is why some of us have had to improvise to reduce the amount of chrome.
