very loud and inefficient AC radiator fan?

on past week (and following weeks) SoCal (also around most states of US) having heat wave around 100F from noon to around 5pm
My work place is a big open parking lot and all vehicles there basically cooked from 9-5.
since 1st day of heatwave I start noticed AC fan is super loud because it is running maximum speed during 20 min way back home (50% local and 50% highway).
I lower the interior AC fan speed to 1 (not auto) and I can still hear and feel the outside fan running maximum speed.
if I turn off AC, fan will stop.
consumption is about ~390 vs ~280 during 80F.

I wonder anyone experience similar issue?

thanks

This is a standard MB feature. MB HVAC fans have seven settings: LO, LO, LO, LO, LO, LO, FULL BLAST

Isn’t that fan also cooling the batteries in the excessive heat?

I believe its the same fan but so weird it only do full speed when AC is on. (car is super hot but if turn off AC will also turn off that fan or lower it at least I can't hear while driving).
one of day (96F) charing at 350kw EA station doesn't turn full fan speed either. but did notice fan on during charge when I came back (interior AC off)

What you may be hearing is the battery fan. If its very hot outside it may be running. Its pretty darned loud.

Did you try the Sync option on climate control? I discovered that last summer and bingo. The climate fan speed lowered instantly.

its battery fan for sure because it comes from same place when I do DC fast charge but when I turn off AC that fan turn off too. I think next week I am going to video and share it.

it is on sync. Not the climate fan noise inside the car. It is the fan noise from outside underneath of the hood

When I turn the AC on by telephone app as I am leaving the house to walk to the barn I can hear that fan turn on even with all the doors closed.

running full speed over 30 min I dont think that is normal. that is why I ask is other owner has similar issue.
so, back to question, does your EQS running cooling fan full speed over 30min while driving?

I took it to the dealer complaining of the loud fan. He said it was normal (as I expected). Now that we have been 105+ everyday it is so loud I am starting to feeling the vibration of the fan in the steering wheel (very subtly)

This excess heat will take its toll. I’ve been charging my EQS SUV in my metallic building for nine months now even in 100F heat with not a glitch and just today after 3 hours of charging the breaker tripped. I ‘ll find out in the next few days if this was a one time event or heat related.

Are you turning on the AC 20 minutes or so before you leave work? This should help your situation, at least with the HVAC fan.

I live in South Texas. We've had 37 100 degree days so far this Summer, which is normal for us. My AC comes on immediately when I start the car, and is never turned off. I hear the fan running when I am in the garage, as I start the car. My AC is set on AUTO, with the fan set in the fourth paradigm. My Burmester is always rocking. I never hear the outside cooling fan after I get in, so cannot answer your question, however my understanding is that it shuts off at highway speeds, and comes on again when the car is not moving through air fast enough to cool the battery and AC coils. My EQS has a fantastic AC system. I wouldn't change a thing.

BTW, my wife's AMG GLE53 AC performs similarly, to include the fan noise. Hope this reassurres you, and allows you to enjoy that cool air!

my garage is about 90F-100F, charging EQS SUV at 30A 240v for few hr. I did lower from 40A to 30A due to the heat.

I saw your message and used pre-cooling today. it helped a lot. at least when I got in the car, cooling fan was at the low speed. during the way home, I heard it speeds up a little but slowing down after awhile too. unlike before was full speed all the way. consumption drops from average 400kw/mi last week to 300kw/mi today. plus today is 102F vs last week 95F
I will use this function from now. big help. thanks again

thanks, I think I did not make myself clear. my ac is cool just the outside cooling fan running at full speed, that is super loud and causes vibrate while driving. unstop full speed for 30 min (about 15 min on freeway 75-80mph)
but this only happen when I park my car outside of my office building with 100F sunlight for like 5-6hr. other time are totally fine. As nath_h mention, I used pre-cooling function for about 10-15 min today, cooling fan does slow down quite bit. consumption drops back to 300 vs 400 before.

Because of the noise. Just like, but more bothersome in my S560.
