I got the following TXT from my SA:
"Mercedes is doing a promotion where they can waive up to 5 payments and put you into a new EQS"
Cars are not selling. Duh.My lease ends in Aug 2025, and given what I have read, I would be interested in a 2026 model at the end of 2025.

Other than the looks (for those who hate it), the EQS is actually a pretty nice vehicle overall.Originally Posted by perlfather

I thought the EQS model is being terminated and instead the S-class will offer Electric variants?

The plan is the 2030 S-Class will be like the G-Wagon. Same car offered with both electric and ICE powertrains. 2030 EQS will be the S580e and S450e and the ICE will be S550 and S450.

Thank God the car manufacturers are capitulating their pledges to manufacture only EVs in 2030. Even Volvo, the flagship marque of the climate lobby, has recently backpeddled. Greta Thunberg is seeking citizenship elsewhere.Originally Posted by MBNUT1

I certainly would like ICE to live longer but I seen people pretty happy with the EQS and EQE in both sedan and SUV form. As much as I am not ready to go electric yet.Originally Posted by streborx

I have nothing against EVs either, but the electrical power generation infrastructure is decades away from supporting a countrywide fleet of exclusively electric cars, and there are not enough buyers capable of purchasing EVs that cost $70K+, which is the price bracket so many manufacturers are focusing on. I don't drive enough miles each year to break even on an EV purchase.Originally Posted by W205C43PFL

I understand, I guess it makes sense for those who can charge at home and only commute a certain distance that they don't have to ever stop to recharge before reaching home. I mean I am one of those but I like a good ol ICE, for now : )Originally Posted by streborx

I'm hopping it's not that far off. The life cycle of MB cars used to be 7 years which would be 2028 maybe. With what seems to be advancements in battery tech, I don't know if they will just put new batteries in EQS or move ahead with the electric S-Class
