Yes, you pick the vehicle delivery date, as long as you give the EDP program enough lead time. If you are looking for delivery during Oktoberfest you should start the process soon, because there is a two to 3 month order/build lag. Note, delivery is not available on Germany holidays and weekends.

Thats what I was hoping to do...I ordered a GLA 45 AMG on Friday, production date is apparently scheduled in July and today just 3 days later I called to inquire about the EDP program and the dealer said the ADP date for this vehicle would be August 21st, with no flexibility...... yet they are promising a USA delivery date at the end of August/beginning of Sept....the numbers dont seem to add up if it then takes 6-8 weeks to ship to USA.

Many Dealers are not familiar with the EDP process. If you are serious about doing European delivery you should work with a Sales Associate that understands the European Delivery process. Check out this thread and give Herbert a call. He is an EDP specialist who can provide you the necessary information and even sell you an ED car at approximately 10% off list price (AMG may have different ED discount rate), and arrange redelivered to your local dealership after your trip:
