Since then, we have organized several other meets, drives and days at the drags that usually attracted five to ten cars each. We had been building a "track record" of successful events for the past couple years. Large events take months to plan and promote. As I mentioned to 55fanatic, I have a very understanding/supportive wife and no kids (at this point).
The AMG Weekend that Schiznick and I organized was the first weekender that came together and got the most attention. Perhaps that's why you thought is was the first time a large AMG gathering happened in the U.S.
Bottom line....we did this for fun. We didn't charge a penny and everyone seemed to have a good time. We are kicking around some ideas for a future AMG event as well....hopefully, the weather will be better next time!

5-10 cars is a big turnout? We get more than that at pretty much every meet here in the DC area and the yare usually last minute meets. We have 15 people going to the track on friday (limited to 15).

I didnt know it was just an AMG thing but this friday we're supposed to have SL65, 4 W211 E55's(only 1 is stock), CL55 Kleemann upgrades, C32 w/renntech upgrades, SLK55, CL600 (I know its not an AMG), should I go on?

well we are at 13cars... if the Atlanta AMG gathering was Northamericas largest gathering with 15cars I am hoping we could certainly get a larger group together than that... come on New Yorkers def have AMGs... Lets get a few more going...
