San Diego (Encinitas) MB / AMG Meet - 9th JULY - 2PM
The meeting spot is still at the Spectrum. The plan is that if the parking lot suggested by AMG Eric is full, then we will go to the furtherest parking lot from the spectrum where the 405 and 5 freeways meet. This area is usually the least crowded. If you are coming from up north (ie LA or ventura) then exit Alton then turn on Fortune / Enterprise heading south. Head to the most southern part of the Spectrum. There should be alot of us there. Im sure there will be a little confusion since the area is so big.
Look at this site.
http://www.shopirvinespectrumcenter.com/
Click on store directory.
Then Center Map.
You will notice on the lower portion of the map it says Target 2006.
This will be option #2 if the original Red X spot is full.

Now I'm assuming we are going to meet up at parking lots which are Figure A & B but then as some as you know, there is heavy construction there and limited parking due to the fact it might be crowded but I doubt since it's saturday afternoon so it's nothing to worry about just yet.
Or we could meet here...
in parking lot one and two but then again...If we really wanted spots to ourselves...we can park more further down...which there will be a lot of spots but thats up to everyone else. I'll get a map of it.
or like Dan has suggested...we can meet here where the thumbtach is at.

If anyone else needs my cell #, please PM me.
I will be at ENCINITAS at 1 PM.
Caravan leaders, please let your people know, that as you file in to the Encinitas Lot, try to park with / next to same class / model type.
That will make it easier for the photo-shoot. If not, no big deal, but just a "nice to do".

hmmm, now why didn't I think of that ???
I've got a couple of SATs I could of tapped into.
oh that's right, that no "posse comitatus" intel oversight thing.
anyway.....
I think Dan_Wang has got the right idea.....
southernmost parking lot (nearest the 405 / 5 merge)
aka... the one with the thumb-tack on it:
Everyone meet there. I will post this image on the 2 other Caravan threads too.
AMG_Eric, BenzoBoi & FrankW caravans will get there around 12 Noon - 12:15.
Like suggested before, once everyone is there, make a quick run around the SPECTRUM to ensure we're not leaving anyone behind.
If you need to make maps, just have them go 5 SOUTH, exit ENCINITAS BLVD.
Go West on Encinitas Blvd 3/4 mile, turn LEFT on Vulcan Rd. Look to your right, because you're there !!!
If you think you might get lost, get someone's CELL #, before you leave.
Or PM me now, and I'll give you mine.

oh, you MUST !!!!
if someone can make up a few:
MB CARAVAN signs with arrows pointing to the southern-most lot, that would be great.
Also, recommend someone (1-2 people) check every 5-10 minutes up where the BIG RED X lot, to make sure no stragglers show up and then leave thinking no one else is there.
Finally, before the whole Caravan rolls out at 12:45, have one or two cars make a quick run around the SPECTRUM to catch any last minute arrivals.
sorry to micro-manage this one, not my style...
but I don't want to hear that someone showed up, and couldn't / didn't find anybody else.

(the Mercedes-Benz Club of America San Diego Section newsletter)
has included a 1/4 page spread of the JULY 9th - 2nd Annual San Diego MB / AMG Meet.
MBWorld is mentioned, as well as the details of the meet.
Special thanks to Mr. Doug Lengel, MBCA San Diego Section Secretary
who made an extra-special effort to get our Meet published in the STAR,
as well as to Mr. Steve Ross, President of the MBCA San Diego Section.
Hopefully, we will get some really nice vintage & classic MB's to come out and show off in front of all the horsepowered-hungry AMG crowd !
