1. will there be enough parking spaces? the train station will be open during this time too, right?

2. will it be possible to divide the parking structure into classes? put up some signs maybe ? (based on the current list of attendees) it would be nice to parked with the same class. or this is too tedious and i'm crazy?

1 - I'm pretty sure there will enough spaces. Yes, the train station is open during this time, but the majority of parking occupied by the Coaster riders is on the south end of the eastern LOT. We will be taking up the north end of the eastern LOT. The entire western LOT (closest to the beach) is usually full because of the restaurants/bars/shopping right next to them. I scouted this location some time ago, on a Saturday, at the same times. Only variable was the weather. That day it was a little overcast. This Saturday looks like it will be in the high 70's.
I'll try to post up a cartoon map of the parking lot, below....




2 - Yes, one of the ideas is to get the classes to park together. See post [B]# 234[/B]. The best way to do it is with signs, but until I know the final number of people who will be showing up, I won't know how much space to reserve for each class. Also, I'm sure there will be people showing up who did not sign up. No biggie, it's just that they are either local, or from the MBCA. For now, the best bet is that once you enter the parking lot, look for same class vehicles and park next to them. I will be there early to help organize as the cars come rolling in. Any help playing field marshall / track steward would be appreciated !

Early? How early is early? Living only 5 mins from there, i could definatly help you start setting up. Although, 6 a.m. may be slightly too early for me.

oh wait, unless there's F1 Grand Prix qualifying going on, which I think there is, matter of fact, so I will be up at 4 am on Saturday watching it LIVE from Silverstone....

oh yeah, how early. I'll be there at 1pm, so if you wanna show up around that time, that would be great. Premise is just to get everyone who shows up parking next to the same class of car as their own. What I might do, is print out a couple copies of the Attendance List and parking map, but in model sequence, so as people pull up, we can direct them to a certain spot.

I have to check with some of the tuners coming too, because they get special front-row VIP rock-star reserved parking. (CEC, evosport, HPS, etc...)
And when the UNIMOGs show up, well.... they can park anywhere they want, I'm not going to stop them !!!

great talking to you on the phone ! thanks for the call and the help !

I just also got off the phone with Ms. Sarah Benson from the North County Transit District (the people who run the Encinitas Coaster Station).
Re-confirming with her that we will be using part of the parking lot this Saturday afternoon, and that there will "no mischevious / illegal activity going on." (her words)

{Side Note: she also mentioned that for future meets, and I think Carlsbadkmprssr mentioned this too, there is a HUGE parking lot just adjacent to the Encinitas Coaster Station at the Encinitas City Hall. It's up on a hill, so I don't know if it has a view, but that might be something to consider.
Perhaps, we can have a small cruise from the Encinitas Coaster Station up to the Encinitas City Hall, and re-arrange the cars for more photo opportunities if the view is killer ! }

The block of time we have for MB Meet purposes is 1 pm to 5 pm,
so our 2 pm to 5 pm schedule is just right.
However, if we are patronizing local restaurants, we can stay as long as we want.

I still need some local Encinitas / Carlsbad folks to recommend a good restaurant. Please take the GREAT advice that Lisa gave a few posts back:

I think most of the restaurants that are within walking distance are rather small places. The nearest place I can think of, that is large enough to accomodate, is "Oggi's Pizza & Brewing Co." They are right off Encinitas Blvd. at the 5. Just thought I'd throw that out there since I haven't seen any other ideas.

its official my car will be going to mexico after the meet for PAINT. the cost is $900 for 5 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear. so i might bail out around 3-4pm to go south of the border. a couple of people were interested in meeting my painter/interior guy down there. if you are still interested pm me and maybe we will make a mini-caravan down to tj.
