***Racing In Riverside County*** December 3, 2005
WHAT: INDOOR Kart racing. 45 mph karts with an 80 MPH option
WHERE: 1594 Bently Dr. Corona---- Closest freeways are the i-15 and the 91
WHY: Because we need some track time and the IE croud wanted to have an event
WHEN: the 3rd of December
TIME: 11am show up and register 12pm race time.
Est. Cost: $100 that will get you 4 races and a few bux left over for vid games and snacks.
Ok here is your chance to do some indoor driving in karts. I personally have met the owner of the facility and have taken a few rides in these insane carts. They go 45 mph however they can go to 80 mph for those that qualify. They handle great and have 3 point seat belts. Even a big guy like me had a ton of fun. You are required to use a helmet. They provide them along with a head sock to keep your sweat from permiating their helmets.
There is a large parking lot we can take over. If enough people want to show up I will ask the owner to rope off part of the parking lot for us. I can probably reserve the VIP room for people to chill out in. I just need a head count ahead of time to ask for this.
I can set up a system whereby the fastest people get to race in a final event. I would need to know in advance who wants to race for time so that i could set up a final. We could have everyone drive in 2 races and take thier fastest lap time to qualify them into the final. Each race has 12 racers. Each race has 14 laps. We could arrange the final to have a standing start and line people up according to lap times. maybe the slowest of the fastest starts in the rear. This is up for suggestion.
There is a Farmer Brothers for lunch just down the street and they offer snacks at the facility. We need to get an idea of how many people want to race and how many want to just ride for fun. You can bring the kids if they are 56" or taller. Otherwise they will have to wait for a SPECIAL kids race.
We will show up at 11am to sign up and register your info on thier database. Everyone is required to do this so that they can track your lap times. It only takes a few minutes. If we are doing real racing we could then do signups for that in the VIP room. Racing would start at 12pm. However if you want to get a few sessions in b4 we officially qualify that can be done between 11am and 12pm.
Here is the website. It has some insane 360 degree views of the place. It also shows good pix of the carts.

what are the qualifications?
i would gather 1st off you must have skill enought to race at 80mph. just because you have a dl license doesnt mean one has skill. i cant say that i could drive 80mph with my butt 1 inch off the ground with my knees out to the side.

We have to bring our own helmets and stuff? How much is it to rent the stuff there? I don't think I'd want to wear someone's stinky helmet all day. Where can we buy one?
Oh yeah, I've never driven a go-kart in my life. How different is it from a car? Please say they're stick.. I miss driving stick sometimes.

as for rain, morongo (casino) isnt that far away

I don't know a lot about go-karts, but if they're anything like cars, shouldn't the gas powered ones go a bit faster than the electric ones?

electric cars accelerate faster. the speed is based on the motor and the gearing. the electric place has 80mph karts but not just anyone can drive the. the gas ones do 70 mph. or at least that is what i think he said.
so setup up a date to do the outdoor action. i have the electric one set for dec. there is no law that says we cant do both.
