Phoenix area Day At the Drags, 3/11/06!!!

Our local car club The Scottsdale Exotic Car Club has organized a "Day at the Drags" on Saturday, March 11 2006. We will be running at Speedworld, the area's best dragstrip. We already have about 35 cars registered, including; several RennTech V12 Benzes, 2 Porsche Carrera GTs, EVOMS GT700, GT800 and GT900 supercars, a 900hp Toyota Supra, a 1200hp twin turbo Viper, a Gemballa GT600, several AMG Benzes, 2 '06 C6 Z06's, a Lamorghini Mucielago and Gallardo, a couple of Bentley Continental GTs and several others. We have cars coming from as far away as Northern California,LA, San Diego, Vegas and Utah.

This is your chance to run your car at a great track and come see and run with several other cars that you've read about.

We've made arrangements with a great local hotel to offer rooms to particpants for half off their regular rates. The hotel is called The James and it is the premiere "chic" place to be in the heart of downtown Scottsdale. We also managed to get the whole front lot reserved especially for all of our cars!!!

Their usual rate for March is $400, we got it for $199!

We're also having an after party Saturday night at the "J Bar" in the James...it was voted the " #1 place to see and be seen" by the Arizona Republic Newspaper.

Friday, March 10

6pm - 8pm: (Dynocomp in Scottsdale) Meet
and greet with Hartmut Feyhl, owner /
founder of RennTech. Informal welcome get
together for SECC members and all "Drag
Day" participants.
Tour of the Dynocomp facilities.

Saturday,March 11

9am: Gates open at Speedworld Raceway
Park for Drag Day.

9am - 10am: Racer orientation / safety rules
meeting.

10am - 12pm: The Track is Open!!! Time to
Race!!!

12pm - 1pm: Lunchtime (racing will pause)

1pm - 4pm: The Track is Open!!! Time to
Race!!!

4pm: The Track is closed for racing.

9pm: After-party in the J-Bar at the James
Hotel in Downtown Scottsdale.

The big day is only two days away! It's the SECC's "Day at the Drags" on Friday, March 31 at Speedworld Raceway Park. This event will be held from 10am-4pm.

Racer's slots are filling up fast, so if haven't already registered, make sure to do now, as space is limited!

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in Friday's "Day at the Drags" Event. The event was a great success!!!.We had a great turnout and great weather to boot! It seems that everybody got a lot of runs in, as well as, an opporunity to meet fellow auto enthusiasts. The staff at Speedworld did a wonderful job of prepping the track and preparing the facility for us.

I would like to give a special thank you to our sponsors for the event; RENNTech, Dynocomp, Evolution Motorsports, Highline Autos and our event coordinator, Aaron Seaford. I, again, would also like to especially thank my lovely wife, Rachel, without whom, the event would have never happened.
