pa, ny, nj, etc meet in the fall...

start thinking about the East Coast Fall Meet #2

i'd like to propose September 14/15 or 21/22. last time, we met on a sunday in manayunk, pa.

please share your ideas for a location. near the nj/pa border has been suggested.

does anyone know if mbusa's site in jersey is interested at all? anyone have any contacts? or is it not worth pursuing?

this time, please remind me to bring the benzsport URL decals...

Hey - anyone's free to make suggestions! Bear Mtn. was nice for the last NYC-area meet, but it would be nice to have it somewhere else.

Too bad that the NE is pretty whimpy about having gtgs - CA definitely has us beat on this issue.

Young, I'll be taking my sis and b-i-l to JFK on the 21st; it's early in the morning, so I could toss 'em out and make a meet that day, but I'd be grumpier than normal.

Whatever you do, please not on Long Island! (Nothing against the place itself, I just can't stand to drive out there...)

What about the Delaware Water Gap?

Looks like this meet will be the only way to get pics of BenzE, doesn't it? :p

BTW: PLEASE post your thoughts on the E Motion thingy afterwards on Saturday. This is how much I am trusting you: if you say that it's not worth it, I MAY blow it off; there's an autocross on Sunday morning at Palisades Park, and I've only autocrossed the crx 2 times this summer, so might do that instead.

DWG would be great, but it's out of the way for pretty much everyone EXCEPT Pocono to Parsippany people, so don't know if we'd be making it a very small event by doing it there.

Where's MBUSA? Cherry Hill?

I'm still OK with New Hope as a possibility. Great food, interesting people, and Rick was going to get a prince albert done if we had it there, wasn't he?

Where in New Hope? Last time I was down there, there was so much damned traffic, I felt like I was crusin' the strip. What kind of place is needed for a meet? If you guys go to New Hope, I recommend taking 78 into PA to 611 South. PA 611 is an awesome road to cruise in your Benz...

Montvale is pretty far up the Garden State Parking lot, but there's lots to do around there. Guys, if your ladies aren't into cars, you can send them to Tice's Corner in Woodcliff Lakes, which is a very chi chi mall, almost better than Short Hills. I always see MBUSA wives there, to be sure (silver S430s, mostly, Vehicle Mfr plates...).

Yeah, yeah, I think Silver Lana might actually see the real me on Saturday at the MBEmotion event.

I will report on it, to be sure. Maybe I'll even have a camera by then. I am just procrastinating, which is a nice way of saying that I'm being a tease...

i like the possibility of ray catena - but i don't know if they'd be interested. anyone buy their car from them?

we could see the new models at least (and porsches, aston martins, we can make fun of the jags :p) but they are not open on sundays so it would have to be on a saturday. http://www.raycatena.com/en_US/

if not, then my nomination would be somewhere in princeton.

also, let me know if anyone has problems w/ a specific date.

I checked RCatena since my boss' friend is a salesguy there, but they didn't have any mannys in stock...

Hey, I don' t have any locations I'd prefer - heck, I'll go anywhere in my Benz as long as it's not stop'n-go to get there. MBUSA sounds like a great idea but I don't know if they'd get involved in hosting gtg's unless it was their idea.

Either way I'm in, and both proposed dates should be fine with me.

Um, don't think that I can explain it on a PG forum. I'd show you where it goes at the meet, but then the other guys would get jealous.

It's good to see Greg come out of retirement to put up a post.

I guess that BenzE has a valid point about NH - parking would be a b1tch. I'm kind of leaning towards Edison, then. Maybe we can get some NY people to drive down if we have it there; it's more central than anything in PA.

BenzE - what stopped you from getting the tattoo? Sober up? The best thing is lots o' shots of tequila - they're fun then. You get to say, "Look - there's my blood!", and you're laughing when you say it.

I will now place my official vote for Sept. 14th as the date that I'd want to have it.

columbus, do you think you can contact your salesman friend at ray catena and see if they could maybe show us the new models? the clk, e and sl?

if that works out, i think edison is a good idea. (sort of a middle ground from ny and phila). there is a mall there that we can park at if necessary.

september 14, edison - tentatively set... 11 am?

Damn, you know how to live it up on the weekends. :p

What time?

For the record, it would be very helpful if everyone would post dates that work for them, then we'll have to see where we have the fewest conflicts. 'Kay?

Also, location suggestions other than Brooklyn.

14th is fine with me.

Edison? Jeesh. I confess, even though my car came from Chez Ray (paid for at Millennium, delivered in MD), I have never been to the big Catena, just the little satellite shop on 22 near Springfield. Does he have lots o Benz? I snooped at Prestige while my Rover was bleeding my wallet, and they have some shweet AMGers on the floor. They're close to Montvale, of course. Any connex there?

What about something more bucolic? Round Valley Reservoir on Rte. 22? Easy for NYCers via 78, and PA people too. Right by my house, so I can roll right over there...

And, btw, what is it with New Hope? One minute you're in an art gallery, the next minute in an S&M shop. Come on, for Christ's sake, if you guys can talk a/b "hitting" all the betty on the board, you sure as hades can enlighten me about a prince albert...

You went to Princeton, right? Then I assume that you know what a search engine is. Would rather not describe PAs here - a little too much for a Benz forum.

I bought my Benz at Prestige. Took 4 times, but finally got a salesguy whom I could stomach. Awfully smug service dept., though.

New Hope's great - different people actually mix there, and get along. Very weird for such a small town. Did I mention that there's great food there?
