Day at the Drags (Georgia) - May 28th, 2006!
According to the schedule at www.silverdollarraceway.com, the Import Showdown is coming up on Sunday, May 28th. Even if you don't want to drag race your car, come out and be part of the action.....meet others and HAVE FUN! Several of us have been to the Import Showdown previously and it is well organized and inexpensive...usually around $25-$30.
CHEAP, compared to a speeding ticket!
Normally, we meet a the BJ's Warehouse parking lot, just South of Atlanta off I-75. We can meet in the morning and head down as a group.
I'll post more details and specifics as it get's closer to the event. Just mark that date on your calendar.....bring your kids/family too if you desire.

Wow! Nice little day we have shaping up here. 
This could be the best turnout to date!
There is also a thread on the AMG Private Lounge going where folks have replied they intend on coming. We could be up to 15-20 AMGs if everything falls into place.
Remember, you do not have to race your car if you don't wish to....come out and meet some great Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts for the day. BTW, many have brought spouses and children to the event in the past. Make the holiday weekend more enjoyable and bring them too.

I won't be able to make it after all. When I posted I did not realize it is the same weekend my sister is getting marred. I tried to get her to change the date but she wouldn't.

Impressive indeed in those conditions! How was the track prep? Last couple times I've been down, it didn't seem up to the usual high standards that Ed & the gang usually do.

Track prep was much better than the last time. I was back down in the 1.8 60' range.
It also may have been the fact that I was down on power from the heat....
With that track prep and 60's temps I should have been in the 11.5's.....
The best I could muster was 11.9's but my trap speeds were down 6-7 mph from where I typically am.
Guess I will need to wait until fall again!
