I was there with my RX-7. I saw that guy show up in his 911. He was revving his motor maybe a little too much upon arrival while looking for a parking spot - he arrived later than most people (like some Pantera guy that did the same thing a few minutes later).
What a shame. Sounds like he died while going on a drive in the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains (Alpine Rd is fun, but you have to keep a cap on your speed - its dangerous) There are trees close to the road edge, motorbikers, bicyclists, cold/damp pavement due to significant shade, etc). High speed on that road is bad ju-ju. I see wrecks there ALL the time.
