Bay Area Meet 6/19/04
Bay Area Meet and Drive.
Date: 11:30 a.m. on June 19th , 2004
Where: We meet at the corner of Hwy 9 and Skyline (Hwy 35) in the parking lot where the hotdog cart is. We can meet first, catch up and check out each others rides, and grab a hotdog. Then from there we drive. Here the route I propose.
Meet at corner of hwy 9 and 35. Then head north up Skyline Blvd. No.1 on the map.
Then go west on La Honda Rd (Hwy 84) until we get to PCH (Hwy 1). No.2 on the map.
Next we head north on Hwy 1 until we reach San Mateo Rd. (Hwy 92) and then head east. At point No.3 we can either decide to end the drive and head for the freeway and everyone can head home. Or, we can head back down Hwy 35 to Hwy 84 (No. 4 on the map in orange ) and then hookup with the freeway (No.5)
What does everybody think about the purposed route?

If I'm not mistaken, the place where he wants to meet is basically the top of big basin way.
So if you're going up downtown saratoga, keep going and you'll turn leftish onto big basic (it just follows into it). Keep going up, and then you'll be @ 35 soon.
Can i suggest an alternate starting point? I suggest we meet IN downtown saratoga. There are lots of venues that make a great starting place, but the best, IMO, is the large 76 station on the corner of 9 (big basin) and De Anza right at the foot of downtown.

We used to do drives with the S2k and BMW guysz
starting from downtown Saratoga and then head up from there. The drive is losta fun with tons of twisties but you gotta be careful if you guys are going to do this during the day. There will be tons of motorcycle and car traffic so I'm not quite sure how you plan on pulling this off. Unless there is only a small number of cars otherwise you will get split up for sure!
I remember our meets were usually late night - 10 pm meets on thursdays when we'd make the run up to the top, then just park around the parking lot where there's an opening to just chill. It's quite dark up there and much better at night since you don't have to deal with traffic.

lol, just kidding it's all good!
We do a lot of spirited drives with mainly the E46 M3 group and there's a big M3 only meet on July 3rd that my buddy is doing...
