I don't remember the name of the person who signed me up, it was in the EW office...but I'm pretty sure if you contact Red Shield directly they will be happy to give you all the info and offer you the options for EW.

What specific Red Shield warranty do you have? They actually don't look too bad and I like the fact that they put their contract online to review...the downside looks to be their max coverage is $12,500 (limit of liability) and you've used up half of that already, basically. For that limit of coverage, their price seems pretty steep, unless I'm reading their warranty/limits, incorrectly.

I believe that $12,500 is per occurrence, not for the life of the warranty...you may want to check if I am right or not.

A double thumbs up to Jeff Jackson of Tafel Motors. Just purchased the 3Y / 100K MB ELW for my 2015 C-300.
Reached out to all the dealers mentioned on this forum and Jeff was much more responsive and quoted the lowest price. He emailed a copy of the draft ELW contract for review and answered Qs on the phone.
Friendly, very knowledgeable and concluded on phone with minimal fuss.

For others benefit, pricing below for a 2015 C-300:
3Y/75K: 3Y/100K:
Jeff Jackson: $1600 $2600
Cassandra: $1750 $2750
Jamie Ruis: $2000 $3000 Make it sound like he was giving me a great deal!
Local MB dealer: $4,455 Platinum plan from Fidelity
Mark Ruis: ? ? IMO, was arrogant on the phone. Refused to quote and said I should only call him after doing all my research and when ready to buy.
Never a good idea to dictate to your customers how they should buy.

Endurance: $4,074 $4,320 Supreme policy, their highest coverage and exclusionary coverage. Deductible of $100 but policy starts 30 days / 1000M after purchase, which means it overlaps the factory coverage.

Other points on the MBUSA ELW:
1. No deductible. Sold and backed by MBUSA.
2. Starts only after the 4y/50K miles factory warranty ends, no overlap.
3. Warranty work can only be done at a MB dealer.
4. Can be cancelled for 100% refund before factory warranty ends. After that, prorated refund minus any claims paid.
5. Fully transferable to a new owner - private party only, not if traded in or sold to a car dealer.
Thank You Very Much Jeff Jackson, Finance Manager from Tafel Motors for providing me the cheapest price on my Mercedes CPO warranty.
I found Jeff to be very knowledgeable professional, friendly, and most of all honest.
I purchased my 2 year Mercedes CPO warranty from Jeff for my 2012 CLS550 4Matic for $2470
(Jamie Ruis of Mercedes of Elmbrook wanted $300 more at $2,770) A few other dealerships I contacted were all higher.

Jeff spent time with me on the phone and answered all my questions. I paid with credit card and Jeff emailed me my CPO certificate
Cheapest price, very seamless and easy and I saved over $1000 from what the selling dealer wanted.
Thank You Jeff.

Thanks - did you purchase the 7/100K from an M-B dealership or an outside warranty provider?

I purchased a 2015 CPO C400 with 12K miles in October 2017 and have put 22K on it (for a total of 34K) since then, and my warranty expires this November. As a result, I may be close to 100K by the end of the extra two years in November 2021, so I figure I'd better get as much mileage as possible.

Thanks in advance for your response!

For me, it made sense to go with Cassandra Castro at International Mercedes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her price was not too far from Jeff's to begin with.

The process could not have been easier. I emailed her for a quote. Called her to make payment. She immediately emailed me the warranty certificate and contract terms. Done.

Agreed. Thanks to your guys' help I contacted Cassandra and purchased the MBUSA ELM for 2-years to 100K miles after the 4/50K Original Factory Warranty expires on my '17 C43 AMG Sedan. Got a quote via email, called her to make payment, she immediately emailed the warranty certificate and terms. Huge savings as compared to the local dealer prices for the same warranty, Fletcher Jones, Mercedes of Anaheim and Mercedes of Foothill Ranch. Thanks to everyone for contributing, it's what makes this thread and forum great!

Thanks MBenz777. Don't be mean to be too nosy, but can you tell me more about the outside provider (company, price/deductibles, other terms)? We actually have the aforementioned C400, and a 2011 E350 4Matic. I reached out to the usual M-B dealer suspects (Jeff in Louisville and Cassandra in Milwaukee) for quotes, but am not 100% sure I can get an M-B warranty on the E350.

Does this sound correct

2016 E-350 with 29,000 miles on the clock.
Local dealer offered 3 year ELW 75K for $ 3150 . Dealer in Milwaukee ( recommended in this forum ) gave me a price of $ 1950. Both warranties are MB.
Local dealer is $1200 higher ~60%
Should I go back to local dealer and see if they will match the offer. Representative I spoke to was inflexible when I asked if there was any room in their pricing.
BTW I always loved cars and do not trust or like dealers!

You can certainly ask. But understand that in some states ELW policies are regulated and dealers can't discount. They are in Florida, so I wound up buying from a dealer in California and I saved significantly.

You could try, but I don’t see the point. You can try a few of the reputable contacts shared here and go with the best price as you’ll likely get a better price here than the dealer if they already told you they won’t budge.

Dealers here are likely the best option as they gain a sale whereas your dealer already gained a sale on the car.

Hello all, thanks for the comments.

Has anyone done an accounting of the actual cost/benefit of the extended warranty they purchased? Example:

- extended warranty cost: $xyz
- claims covered under extended warranty: $abc
- (cost)/benefit = $xyz - $abc

Is this different than the extended 2 years of CPO warranty for $3000 for my 2016 GEL350 from 2021 - 2023.
Just got my car CPO'd for $1500 which include 4 new tires and an extra year 2020-2021 of warranty after standard 4years manufacture warranty.

I called Jeff up in Louisville and he got us a MB ELW for 3 years up to 75k miles for $3400 for a 2015 CLS550 4 matic. Jeff was awesome to work with. P.S you only pay 6% sells tax on the warranty in KY.
