2013 vw jetta, saving for the new CLA
Tell her congratulations!
Yes, the Mercedes ELW extension is cancellable any time. If cancelled before it goes into effect, you will receive 100% refund. Third party service contracts pro rate them from day one.

Woo I got boned on the new car MB ELW by about $300 over MSRP (paid 4200 for 7/100 coverage on GLK) *grumble*
I had thought about canceling it, then repurchasing it within the 30 days, but it would probably be more hassle than it's worth (if that is even allowed). Had I known you could make payments on that separately with 0% interest I would have done that rather than finance into the car loan. Oh well, hindsight...

Well, my 2010 ml350 did not qualify for the Mercedes ELW. Erin tried her best, but to no avail.
Anyways, I then went with Zurich Platinum Vehicle Service Contract and got one for $2998, with $100 deductible. It is 6 years from the date of contract, and up to 100K on the odometer.

For a non-CPO car, I think you would have to buy extended warranty before standard warranty expires (4yrs/50k).
But for a CPO car, do I have until (5yrs/100k) to buy extended warranty? Does anyone know?
Thanks!

Yes, with a cpo you can extend to 6/120 or 7/135 as long as you are under the 5/100.
Non-cpo have to be under 5000 miles if bought from a Mercedes Dealer or within the 4/50 if purchased directly from an individual.

Hey Retna7...it would not qualify unless it was a certified MB. Over 80k miles would limit any 3rd party to engine and transmission coverage for around $5600 over 48 mos. Limited electrical would cut it to 24 mos for the same amount. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the information Travis! I saw a great price on an S65 and a Pre Purchase Inspection revealed why....needed over 8K in work. What starts off as cheaper almost always ends up more expensive! That being said, would a 2007 with 49000 qualify for an ELW? Its a non-CPO BTW, not from a dealer and not within 4 years of manufacture. Am I correct to assume that after the original manufacturers warranty on a non CPO that an "MB" Extended Warranty is out of the question? Do I have any options in consideration of this vehicle?

All done.
I just wanted to notify everyone that I will no longer be offering Mercedes Warranty extensions. I appreciate the business and have enjoyed working with all of you. I am moving on to a Non-Mercedes dealership.
THANK YOU!

2014 GL350 ordered
Crap, I was just a couple months away from getting my car. Any suggestions for a Travis substitute?
Never mind, I read the earlier posts and got the contact info for others, hope they are still around.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I've been trying to get in touch with him for about a month, so far no luck. He hasn't returned voicemails or emails.
but two others have said they've gotten great deals from him.

Just got a call from Dan today, he quoted me prices on two vehicles, his pricing is truly amazing! between 30 and 50% off what other dealers have quoted!
So if you're in the market for an extended warranty for your MB, do give Dan a call first!
