Jeff is great but I have a problem that he can't solve. Evidently when I bought the car out of the lease, the dealer did not show it as an end of lease purchase but rather as a used car. As a result, the car shows not eligible for ELW and so far, the dealer does not seem to know how to fix this.

I certainly do not understand what has happened here but MBUSA shows no available ELW products for the car! And even Jeff cannot fix it for the other dealer.

Any suggestions?

you have to call MBUSA and hash it out with them. In my experience I’ve come to learn that customer service at MBUSA is useless and so are most finance departments due to lazy finance managers and high turn over rates. Jeff helped me years ago with this. I asked if he could call, but he said unfortunately he doesn’t have the time to spend an hour on the phone. Apparently his commission is only $30 on these online warranties, so it’s not really worth the hassle for him to call for me. Especially because I didn’t buy the car from his store. I eventually got it handled, but customer service was clueless and I had to take it up the chain. Good luck!

MBUSA called the dealer and the dealer "fixed it" but whatever they did only allowed that dealer to sell the ELW. Jeff tried a number of times to get MBUSA involved but they did not respond.

So I ended up buying the ELW, after the price went up, from the selling dealer as that was the only way I could get the warranty.

Jeff is terrific.

Just a disclaimer - do NOT get quotes for wheel and tire. I learned the hard way. I bought it from a store out of state due to price. Come to find out I can’t use it. I went into my local dealer to have my wheel fixed and they told me my wheel and tire was invalid, but I paid for it up front.
I was confused and went over to the finance dept to see what was going on. They said I should be able to use it. I was over it at this point and sent Jeff Jackson an email and he explained that you have to buy it from the dealership you purchase your car from. I didn’t buy the warranty from him, but he was nice enough to try to help me.

Hey everyone,

I am in the market for an extended warranty for my 2020 C63S AMG Coupe.

After reading through this post I see there are two people to contact for the best price for an extended warranty, Jeff Jackson and Rafael Dianov.

Is there anyone else that any of you would suggest?

Thanks!

Jeff Jackson is the man. You won’t find anyone cheaper than him and as prompt. He will send you a link for online payment and overnight you the paperwork via FedEx. I am on my fifth warranty with him. I’ve sent my family and friends to him over the years. He’s consistent, easy, and super knowledgable. The only thing that is a negative is he is not going to answer a ton of questions if you give him a big list of them. He gives you his best and final price from the jump. There is zero negotiation. It’s a lot lower than my local dealer and other people that sell them online. Additionally, it seems like there’s ample turn over in finance at MB, but I’ve worked with him since 2014.

GLC 300
I own a 2020 GLC300 and the warranty expires this May. I have 32,000 miles on it and plan to keep it for at least 3 more years. I only drive about 5-6K a year at this point so in 3 years I should have less than 50K. I didn't plan on owning it after the 3 year lease but the buyout was so good and my milage so low, that it made sense for me at the time. Anyway, I don't love having an out of warranty Benz for 3+ more years but not sure if it is worth buying the ELW. After reading this post, I contacted Jeff Jackson today. He gave me a great price that was much lower than the going MB rate from my local dealer on a 7/75(3 more years from this May when my new car warranty ends) I will likely buy it from him tomorrow 1/31 as he said that the prices from MB go up 2/1. Just wondering, from the info I've included, if you think it is a smart move to get the ELW 7/75. Thanks

FYI - MB is going to increase the price of warranties tomorrow, so if you’re on the fence you should probably go ahead and buy it from whoever you quoted with. Referred a buddy of mine to Jeff Jackson and he confirmed.

Keep in mind that warranty coverage is based off the year/miles of the vehicle at purchase of the warranty. So if anyone is looking for extended warranty coverage beyond the 3 years of Mercedes factory extention, you're better off punching the 3+ years of warranty from a provider like Fidelity, where your coverage beyond the initial 3 years is based on the mileage and age of the vehicle you had when you first started shopping for extended warranty coverage in the first place. Just something to think about, you can reach me at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333 if anyone has any questions.

Does the extended warranty vary greatly based on the vehicle you have? Do you mind sharing how much you have to pay and if you know of any 'chart' that shows how much is a "reasonable deal"?

i plan on contacting Jeff Jackson and Rafael Dianov for extended warranty as i believe these 2 are the recommended ones.

thansk!

I would think it matters based on model and year but not positive. I think MB has a price guide that dealers can adjust up or down. I believe prices just went up as of 2/1. That being said, on the day I did mine the going MB price was 2930 for a 7/75 ELW for my 2020 GLC300. Jeff Jackson took 750 off of that for a total of 2180 for me which I think was worth it for me and a great price.

I can confirm that there was a price increase on 02/01/24 for extended warranties as well as pre-paid maintenance plans as I communicated with Jeff Jackson on Thursday regarding this subject. I already had an extended warranty but the PPM that I was inquiring about went up $370 for 3 A & B services. Also, it was stated that MB increases prices approximately every 18 months.

I first emailed him about the warranty on 1/30 and he told me of the increase. I also had my car in for a recall on 1/29 and my local dealer mentioned it as well when I asked for their price.

As a silly question: I've had two MB dealerships mention that CPO pricing is regulated by MB. How are the people mentioned frequently in this thread able to offer a Mercedes factory CPO warranty at such a discount?

Absolutely sucks that a MB dealer is selling you a product that they know you cannot use OTHER THAN at their dealership. Sorry this happened to you.

What the dealer pays MB for the warranty is likely set but what they sell it for is highly negotiable.

Depending on the state - not all are allowed to negotiate a warranty.

What are the latest rules for buying extended warranties on used cars? I am purchasing a used Benz from a non-MB dealership. The car has a few months of factory warranty left (and 1 year CPO, but from what I understand, I lose that)

I reached out to Jeff, like people here suggested, but he just sent me some options for a 3rd party warranty and stopped responding.

Reached out to another guy in WA, but he said that MB extended warranty is only offered on used cars which are sold by an MB dealer and have remaining factory warranty.

Is 3rd party the only option under these circumstances?
