MB Extended Warranty VS Aftermarket

I've done some searching around on this forum and others and I'm not getting a real clear picture on benefits of either.
I'm likely picking up my 2010 c63 tomorrow and it has about 6months left on the factory warranty, the dealer (not a MB dealer) offered an easycare warranty for 3400 for 3yr 75k mi 250deductible

Carchhex is
5yr 50k $5272
3 30k $3995

I contacted some mercedes dealers and some listed in the forum and it looks like the MBELW price JUST went up A LOT its about 6400 for a 3yr (7 total) 75k warranty.

Im not finding a lot of information on easycare specifically related to AMG, I did find several bad reviews about them stalling at paying for repairs or not paying....but frankly i find it hard to justify 6-7k for a warranty when out of pocket likely wouldnt cost that.

Anyone have experience with these Aftermarket warranties?

I purchased an after market warranty from MB dealership my car only had a few months factory warranty left due to being a 2010. My car only had 10,000 miles at time of new warranty.

I got a 4 year, up to 110K miles from Fidelity their Platinum warranty for $3200 after brief negotiation. It covers everything with a $100 deductible and is used all the time at MB dealership. At the time I inquired about MB warranty at cost of $4100 but car came from an auction so MB does not warranty it.

I have not had to use my warranty yet, but covered for 4 years up to 110,000 miles. I drive about 20,000+ miles per year.

I have a different one for my wifes Lincoln Navigator and it has paid for itself.

Don't get a warranty with a $250 deductible and make sure you negotiate pricing! GL

wow, that's insane how much the ELW has gone up. in case you don't know, you can purchase the ELW from any dealership in the country ... search this subforum, there is one dealership that sells for less than others. may be worth a call.

Yup did that got this from one of the guys a lot of people used, he said elw literally just jumped huge in price this week alone

I'll check around on fidelity maybe give the local Benz dealer a call....the place I'm getting this from only sells easycare and I've read some iffy things but either way I just can't see 7k being worth it

10' C63, 99' 4Runner 250K miles!
My warranty on my C63 which has about 30,000 miles was about to end so last week I called several different Benz dealers and they all quoted me prices of about $4000 for the 7 year 75K mile official MB ELW

I would never purchase a third party warranty. They are too quick to challenge claims. Conflict of interest. They are in the business of selling warranties, one time payment, and then they hope to be done with you.

Manufacturer warranties are the way to go. Their standpoint; it is important to keep the consumer happy with the brand so that they will purchase another... and another... and another... and another.

I'm in agreement with Vash.
Third party warranties are a waste and pure money makers for the company providing them.
If I felt a warranty like this was needed I'd question the vehicle purchase altogether.

normally id completely agree, but it's more a piece of mind thing considering how pricey some repairs can be on an AMG....I really wanted that Extended factory warranty but almost 7k just seems insane when a headbolt repair is around 4

I bought the car today, ended up getting the easycare 4yr/75k mi extended warranty for 3995, the salesman said its the only one they find that covers AMG without question and theyve never had a complaint. Actually said if i wanted to wait i could contact the local service reps they use at the mercedes dealers and ask their input.....so i figured might as well just do it now buy once cry once.

My fidelity warranty was junk, I had the highest level warranty they had. Had a bad experience on a repair on my first C63 AMG, and it was like pulling teeth. Repair on the motor was around $2500 and they covered $600 because they would only repair the bare minimum and not up to AMG standards Mercedes requires.

I went with Carchex, 3 yr 30k miles for $4100 for my 09 CLS63... What I liked about Carchex was that I make monthly payments on it. I figured, if something happened and they played games, I'd cancel. Only 1 claim (replaced my motor mounts at MB) for $1300, they paid it no questions asked.
